    My ideas for a cave update would include cobalt, which would be found exclusively in slime chunks but in big amounts below y48, which can be used for enhancements. Enhancements would be like enchantments except you combine a tool/armor piece and a scroll and they wouldn't stack. Enhanced items can't be enchanted, and enchanted items will lose their enchantments once enhanced to balance it. Enhancements would include Strength, Sustainment, and Speed (more damage, more durability, and faster use time, respectively).

    This post has been around for a long time so I think I should throw my two cents into the matter.

    Mojang, don't be afraid to add "useless" features. I know people tend to wine when a block doesn't really do anything, but we builders would appreciate new blocks like Maw Sit Sit or Basalt to build out of.

    Give tools/armor special buffs. I feel like Diamond armor should always have the highest durability/protection, but other materials could have their own buffs, like how Gold tools dig faster and Turtle Shells let you breathe underwater. Perhaps Sapphire armor could give you the luck buff and Fire Opal armor could make you immune to fire damage.

    Make things biome specific. The underground in Minecraft is both cluttered and boring. Adding variety to caves by biome will help with inventory management and add incentive to explore. Peridots could  be desert exclusive for example. 

    The Nether should have a higher amount of Quartz and Igneous rocks than the Overworld. Stuff like Amethyst, Bloodstone, or Basalt wouldn't necessarily be Nether exclusive, but would be much more common there. Would add extra incentive to live/mine there.

    Try making more interesting things instead of just wild mine shafts and lava but in that case make the caves bigger and the new stuff in caves and the caves themselves harder to find

    I don't agree on mobs just spawning in caves.I actually hate mobs spawning in caves. Cause caves are small and you can't hide or maneuver cause you're basically surrounded.

    Like overgrown cave systems, different types of dungeons and, like someone mentioned before, rare caves with bosses and lava.

    I think stalagmites and stalagtites should only be present where the the caves open onto larger caverns, and should be made of whole blocks... Just a thought... Really like the idea though!!
    PS: It'd be stupidly funny if they made stalag-mites became a silverfish-lioe mob for caves. Similar in name to endermites xD xD !!!!!!!!!!

    I think that if we added miner villagers then villages caves would be more fun. Also more ores, we need a variety of ores to make new weapons,pickaxes,etc. Also new mobs would be necessary, like zombie miners, ghosts, etc. And last but not least, biomes. I have wanted biomes in Minecraft since 2015 and it would make caves more trippy, getting lost and trying to find a way out would be way more fun! Thanks!

    This could also include a new villager that went into the mines and you could find mining, and would trade valuable ores.

    Just how some areas in the same city have different rock underground (ask a well driller or anyone qualified), Minecraft should do something also.

    The educational edition may be a fantastic place to experiment. Seeing as the game already has a jankily normalized worldgen that doesn't give you gnarly rng terrain like it used to, and already focuses on the real world at an atomic level.

    Seems like a safe no brainer to start gathering more information on overhauling over %50 of every world's generation biome-wide.

    Mobs should look different in caves depending on what biome they're in. For example, a dungeon / cave with a skeleton spawner should instead spawn strays. Caves could have 'biomes' and the mobs would look different depending on which cave biome it is in. Abandoned mineshafts could have different reasons it got abandoned, and depending on that they would look different. For example, it could have gotten burned down in a fire, or a zombie infestation, or a gravel avalanche (which would be my favorite), etc. 

    Volcanoes! I'd love to see this added to the game.

    I also agree that the caves feel bland but there are also other aspects that need covered and right now ere getting the nether update worked on.

    We also need new ores like ruby or copper or magnetite which can be used for redstone and stuff, we need more uses for emerald, but most important is a new ore because it gets boring when all you have is diamonds, iron, gold, coal and emeralds.
