Love the bundles, with enough organization they will be a huge boon for players.

    They should be dyable, ofc.

Shift and Drag items in and out of them, if you arent going to let us pick and choose from a UI.

Bundles should favor items already inside of it and auto collect them (mob drops, plants, etc)

An enchant expanding storage would be insane.

I hope you consider allowing us to hold four of an unstackable item. Having an emergency armor or tool kit ready to go would help a lot. I can already imagine having a silk touch tool bundle ready to be opened while mining. We're begging you Mojang.

I feel that you should be able to use bundles also as a quiver for arrows, i noticed that if  your arrows are in a bundle then you don't have direct access with a bow/crossbow. since the quiver isn't making a comeback i could see this as an awesome alternative

can you increase the capacity or make some exception for non-stackables to help reduce clutter in the inventory?

I think it would be cool if dispensers were able to fill and empty bundles.

A bundle with items inside would dispense all its items if it interacted by a dispenser. While a empty bundle would pick up as many items on the ground as it can from the block right in front of the dispenser.

Bundles are really cool for Shops and vending machines, however having to manually fill them seriously cripples them in that regard. Being able to automatically fill bundles would allow to make such contraptions on a larger scale. It would also allow for more late game use. For example you have a contraption that automatically packs rockets, food and ender pearls into a bundle. So after going home and trowing all your items into your item sorter, you can just grab such a bundle and head out again.

Also allows for automatic unloading in item sorters and for potentially cool sorting machines.

I'd love to see what percentile of players ever get their hands on a Shulker Box. I'm betting it's below 5%. We need better inventory management solutions than just Bundles and Shulker Boxes, and though Bundles are pretty useful, they're not nearly enough, even for just this update.

    There's too much clutter.

    • Give us an inventory sorting button, please. At least for chests. Manual sorting is not an enjoyable player experience, especially with controllers, and "chest monsters" become a huge deterrent for me to keep playing in my worlds. I want to play your game, not organize everything constantly to get to playing it.
    • Lower the skill ceiling of automatic sorters by introducing a block to filter through items. Maybe grates allow items with sprites to flow through, but not items with 3D models (like block types). Maybe it's made out of Copper?
    • Allow us to swap our hotbar with another row of our inventory with a hotkey or other. This is already partially implemented in the Creative inventory, but Survival players are those that would profit the most out of better hotbar management. Again, this problem is considerably aggravated by playing with controllers in my experience, but it's still a thing with mouse & keyboard.

I really don't see the point of bundles. They take up an inventory slot to ... hold a stack. Which could have been there in the first place.

Unless bundles are larger than an inventory slot, I can't see a purpose.

People are saying that bats are useless. I love the bats but that is true.

Bat wing would be a valid ingredient in the crafting recipe of bundles.

Jim Gersetich, bundles allow you to place two different items in one slot! That is an awesome early game feature and could even be used to better organize your shulker boxes later on.

Maybe you could toggle open and close a bundle by pressing right click/long press/left trigger in the inventory on it.  This would keep it open until you pressed it again, and you could take and add what you needed without spilling everything out.

Smerphsmasher, I do like that idea, but redstone comparators do that for chests and such. A pressure plate by itself would be inconsistent, however, a pressure plate with a comparator would be. I like this concept and it would be nice if they did this for shulker boxes too.

I think they'll be very useful, even in the end game. Builders often have an assortment of bits and bobs, and this could make handling that so much easier.

Can we PLEASE have some decent redstone compatibility, though? I've seen it suggested that dispensers could empty them, and I like that.

When measuring a bundle in a container, a comparator should read the fullness of the bundle as though it were the number of items in that space of the container. So a bundle with 1 item in it would read as a single item, rather than as an unstackable bundle.

This could allow for automated identification of partially loaded bundles, as it would be the only thing that would read as an incomplete stack, but move through hoppers at the speed of a single item.

I haven't found that bundles to solve the problem of sorting items. Its still hard to know what bundles have what and you have to manually sort everything. :/

But they help if you wanna have som of the sam stuff att one place and gives you a more efficient max out your item count.  :D

Maybe a change could be made to the inventory could let the player manage items by creating columns and rows with names and colors to separate them. Making it easier to know where different items can be found. :)

Holding a bundle and Shift-rightclicking an empty inventory slot should empty out the bundle in FIFO order rather than the normal LIFO, allowing you to cycle through the contents of the bundle to find what you need.

Small thing, why only make bundles craftable with rabbit hide? It would be nice to be able to craft with leather.

Bundles should let you over-stack potions.  You should be able to hold 16 potions in a bundle, and then everything else follows the normal rules of bundles.

Somewhat silly but fun mid and endgame ideas relating to bundles:

Also, a possible idea for backpacks would be rather than adding more inventory slots, it allows you to access shulker boxes and bundles from a new option in the GUI (I think that's what it's called).  But simply you would have "another inventory" but really you just don't have to go through that many steps with shulker boxes and bundles.

Another idea is if you were able to trade three bundles and a saddle to a leatherworker to make a saddle with bag, that adds an inventory to saddles with horses, and has the same rules of mixing items, but with a limit of three stacks

Bundles needs a few accessibility features in general I feel like.

    1. Right clicking a bundle with items inside while your cursor is holding an item should dump the item on the cursor to a slot in the inventory while taking an item out of the bundle. Shift right click does the same thing, except if the inventory is full, it will dump the item on the cursor into the world.

    2. When holding a bundle in your cursor, you should be able to drag down right click over multiple slots to dump multiple items.

    3. Right clicking on the bundle with your hand should only dump the last item type you've put in out of the bundle, while control right clicking dumps it all out like it did. (Consistent with Q and control Q)

    4. Rabbit hide should be more accessible, I initially thought of making rabbits spawn in more biomes, but I feel that solution wouldn't be as good as one that doesn't make biomes that spawn rabbits in it less special.

Overall, bundles are great in implementation. It is a tool that helps players manage the inventory, and it focuses on precisely that and nothing else. Making the bundle hold more items than a stack would lose the sense of an inventory management tool, but rather just another storage device or shulker box that controls slightly differently. In other words, I like how focused the design is for the bundle, and how they didn't add features like making it able to hold more than a stack of items since that would distract from it being an inventory management tool.

I personally think that it would be incredibly useful if you could place random blocks or eat food that's inside a bundle by trying to do those things while holding a bundle. The reason I believe that this would substantially improve the item is because it would no longer just be an item used for inventory management and would become a multifaceted item which many people would use.

We should be able to dye bundles. We can dye leather and shulker boxes, so dyed bundles just seems perfect.

Bundles could be vastly improved with one simple tweak. The ability to choose which item to take out of the bundle instead of always taking out the last item put in. Bundles loose their usefulness if your inventory is getting full and you need that one item from your bundle but you have to take everything out to get to it, this is a nightmare.

FIX: While hovering the bundle the scroll wheel could be used to cycle through the highlighted items in the bundle UI so right clicking will remove the the item you want and not the last item put into the bundle. (controllers could cycle with RB/LB and with touch controls the UI could be left open on the "hover" so a tap could select the item you wish to remove)

We should be able to keep 4 un-stackable items in one bundle where each un-stackable item is equal to 16 stackable items. It will solve many inventory problems and won't be very game breaking

Apparently bundles are postponed until Caves & Cliffs part 2, but I think they should still be released in Caves & Cliffs part 1, at least in a dot release. Bundles are one of the biggest features in Caves & Cliffs, and they're currently a working, useful feature as they are now. Sure they can be greatly improved, but why not release the current bundle in Caves & Cliffs part 1, then add more quality of life features to it in Caves & Cliffs part 2? The current bundle works well and is very useful.
