Bundles are a great idea as something similar to a backpack. There’s nothing like them. You have to place shulker boxes to access their contents. Same with ender chests. But bundles? Nope! This is great for creative builders who need to access items quickly.

My take on bundles would be more backpacky, but it would be compatible with most input methods and help with the problem of inventory management, since it's current form is unintuitive and unbalanced.

    Usability-wise:

My idea would be for it to be a 3-slot container accessible with a right click, or maybe equipping it on your off-hand (or a new bundle-belt item could be used to store them) could make an slot appear on beside your 3 already available rows (would require either a new GUI or an extension like the knowledge book)

    Balancing it:

My idea would be for it to be a temporary storage solution, so it wouldn't fit inside of chests on its own and it's items should be spilled when dropped. It could be able to be tied with a string and stored that way, and then once the bundle is opened again, it would be either gone or return to it's temporary storage state and require another string.

The packages are great as they were designed, I feel that his interface should also be applied to shulkers, as we can't see the complete list of items stored inside it through the inventory

You should definitely consider adding the bundles and taking a close look at the shulker interface

i feel that bundles should work more like shulker boxes for early game.
instead of giving you the most recent item you put in, maybe holding it and then right clicking opens an inventory with however many slots. this would be a lot more user friendly, because right now i don't think i'm ever gonna use bundles with how they work

Bundles are cool, but what about Pocket Edition players like me? What can we do to access individual items?

I like them, but when an item that you want to get is right at the bottom of the bundle, it is very hard to get to, especially if you don't have much inventory space. I suggest a way to access the bundle in reverse, or an enchantment that lets you access any item in it. an enchantment to increase capacity would be great as well.

Bundles should be able to stack same kind non stackable items. Like having 16 discs, enchanted books, writable books, patterns, etc in the same bundle

    1. It is very irritating that you can chose what item you want to take out of the boundle.

    2. Also it would be useful to be able to color or mark the bundels to be able to now what we put were.

This is a much better version of the boundle thoe. I can see it being very useful while building a smaller build with many different block. You could store different building pallets in different boundles.

I think the bundles are perfect as is! It feels a lot like using a handbag... You have to pull items out one at a time to get to what's at the bottom.

I've been using datapacks to add the bundles to my survival worlds now for the past year and I can't see myself playing the game without them now. They come in so handy for holding onto those loose items that I need but don't want taking up important inventory space. My way of dealing with the limited way of pulling out items is by putting the less used items at the bottom of the bundle and always making sure I've got enough inventory slots or a chest on hand to drop the items in while I grab the item I need.

Forgot to mention that the trick is not to completely fill your bundle with lots of individual items. Just keep it to 4 or 5 different stacked items at most per bundle. You can always carry multiple bundles if you need to.

Bundles have a lot of potential and most comments seem to reflect my critiques of them. They can be useful for small mixed stacks as intended but inventory is often complicated by unsackable items. Visual preview is pretty awesome though and makes it a little easier to not think about bundles needing to be dyed for organizing (but still a fun idea).

I think Bundles should have 3 different mechanics, or at the very least toggle game rule options:

-1 stack (64 items) of mixed stackables, current mode

-3 unsackable items (helps with adventure/mining tool carrying), Compass, spyglass, horns, Flint&Steel, Potions, weapons, tools, etc.

-3 stacks of the same stackable, early survival builder's delight, but Shuker boxes are still way better.

Some data packs have allowed too sorta test out the feel of multiple stacks, and honestly, 3 stacks are helpful but still leave a strong push to upgrade.

    (Bonus mechanic idea)

(Quiver style) bundle in the hot bar with arrows can be used for firing with rules of; 3 stacks of normal arrows or 1 stack for mixed special & normal arrows).

Otherwise GUI and behavior on Java is easy enough, it's just the fact it doesn't help as much as one would hope except for a limited situation.

For the love of all that is holy, this shouldn't be that hard. Just make it do one of the following:

    • Make it an equip that gives an extra row of inventory
    • Let it hold multiple unstackable items
    • Just give it a 128 stack limit lmao

Minecraft has evolved as a game to the point where the player NEEDS more inventory space. The current number of slots just isn't enough. Terraria was more than willing to adapt and evolve with its growing needs, adding the Void Bag in the early game, and it's a better game for it. Why can't Minecraft do the same?

I only wish that the bundles were slightly easier to use and could hold more than two items. Outside of that, I like everything else!
