It does mean it shouldn't drop anything useful. Having any sort of useful item will automatically make it a target for that item, especially if it is a new, powerful, and/or unique item.

The current axolotl animations may just be so the player still knows they are alive, as well as the fact that it is more realistic, but I would prefer them to match the current mob deaths

Or, all mobs in Minecraft could be made to not immediately disappear, just fade over time. That way, axolotls would appear to be dead but not fade away even after awhile

I would instead have it so they fall over, don't turn red but then turn invisible or teleport away. The fact that they don't turn red is the sign that they aren't dead

There could be a Respawn Anchor for Villages that all Villagers connect to that enables them to respawn. I was thinking that it should use Golden Apples as fuel, as an allusion to Zombie Villagers ...

What if copper didn't age as a block, but each face could have an oxidized state? I thought this would be cool if you found Copper Ores. The sides that were exposed to air would be green

They could drop a new Totem that allows you to control a monster like a pet. Using it may or may not consume the totem

I was imagining something like an Elder Guardian except it looks like Endstone and has obsidian pillars sticking out of it
