I love the bigger mountains because it's more fun speed running and you can try jumping off and fall into the snow even a goat rammed me and I survived the fall on the snow because of the new feature so the thank you mojang keep doing what you do

I say we should add mountain caves or icy caves and maybe e en a mountain village and inside the caves possibly trolls or goblins to make it unique. :) because at them moment its really just climbing the mountain. Which is amazing and all but maybe something that will keep us coming back for more later :)

I really love the new mountains, but there are no caves in them.  Maybe the caves could be ice/snowy caves, even maybe with a variant of pointed dripstone called the icicle, and possibly an ice themed ore/crystal?  The new ore could maybe be extremely rare and be used as a late game version of lapis lazuli to enchant things more powerfully, and it could only be mined with a diamond pickaxe.

I'm on Java so i've only seen them on youtube, but i think they might look too realistic in comparison to the old terrain. They kinda clash. But, I also in the past felt that the new textures felt like they clashed bc they looked better (i vary much prefer a consisten look, otherwhise it creates that tacky roblox feel, ew), but as other parts got better, like the look of the new structures, I more and more feel like its the old outdated parts that sticks out and i wish were updated. So, if you plan on updating the other biomes at some points, please do go ahead with the new mountains as is, otherwhise, may i recomend just x4 the depth and scale variables in the old mountains, it looked realy cool. I dont think there is anything wrong with that random perlin noise feel and some floating parts, it has a charm and magic to it, and i definitivly dont think it clashes with any of the other new pretty stuff as minecraft still has its own logic and look separate from the real world, and i still think hight dependent biomes can make that look cooler as well.

Saw someone comment on making the clouds higher, but I've made some flatland presets in the latest snapshot, and looking at the clouds from -64 up to their current hight its vary obvious, looking at such a steep angle from underneath, that they pop in and out from only where the rendered chunks are, so if you move the clouds up, given that clouds only are a visual thing, may it be possible to make the clouds extend much further out in that case?

I would make it so that the spruce trees can generate deeper than right below the tree lines because right now, they just generate in bands or small clumps which isn't something you see often in mountains. I want to see more spruce trees in mountains.

    1. Make the Mountains generate more. They are apparently too hard for players to find.

    2. Fix other higher terrain to match how smooth and realistic the new mountain biomes are. Hills, Extreme Hills, etc

Please make a type of mountain generation called plateau. A plateau would be long expanse that has maybe a few hills, but there is a cliff that leads to the top.

I have been searching for one of these mountains for over 2 hours and found nothing. These things are WAY too rare.

I miss mountain villages with goat farms. Frozen small streams and frozen waterfalls and let the mountains be more frequent.

Are the mountains going up to the new height limit?

Some reason I would want to climb the mountain. Example Maybe some ore something that I can't obtain anywhere else, something that makes me want to explore, maybe something that adds to the lore based around archaeology, maybe a rare in-game item. Also adding an achievement for climbing the highest point.

Sandy mountain biome with quicksand and bone block ribs cages like spikes bending into the sky sticking out of the Mountain. The bone blocks are fossilized so they can't be used for gardening, so they are not overpowered but you are more likely to find fossils. You can also find Petrified Forest little stumps and Fallen trees that are all petrified. Petrified wood requires you to mine with a pickaxe. Some petrified wood can be vibrant, some can be a dull grayish color. Petrified wood and petrified bone blocks are great for decoration and building. You won't find much life on top of these mountains but you will find the remanence of life. Maybe there could be some tombs that spawn Undead and store great riches, giving a reason to climb the mountains. The great riches don't need to be diamonds or gold, maybe gold nuggets?Probably even be able to find pottery. I think Emerald should be more common though in Desert mountains. I also think that there should be lots of mines and caverns and increased level of copper in desert mountains.

The mountains are very nice. I can tell that a lot of work went into them. I went into the mountains, survived the powder snow, climbed a peak and got an incredible view. Unfortunately, I'm left with no real reason to ever go back. Been there, done that, didn't get the t-shirt (there was no t-shirt stand at the summit). There need to be reasons for players to go up there. It takes a fair amount of work (as it should), and has some risks, but there is no reward other than the magnificent view.

The only reason I can currently see to go up there is maybe emerald mining. But unless they're really, really common up there, trading with villages will probably be easier and quicker.

How about a "lost mine" treasure map available from cartographers leading to a mineshaft (or even better, some new structure only found in the mountains)? Or maybe have a ruined portal spawn at a peak, so it would be visible from a long way off, drawing players up to it. Or an abandoned monastery clinging to the side of a mountain. Or some really useful item only found in the mountains. There need to be destinations up there, and some way to let players know, either they should be visible from a long ways off, or there should be clues like maps.

The white fox variant should be able to spawn in mountains with the goats, as well as the white rabbit variant.

So, when will they arrive in Java? Mining coal and iron is extremely painful when the vast majority is supposed to be in tall mountains, which don't seem to exist yet. It creates an extremely frustrating game experience.

I love the idea of the new mountains, but feel that they still need something.  How about a Hall of the Mountaineers similar in rarity to a Stronghold that occurs rarely in large mountain biomes?  I envision the Hall as having an unmarked entry (think kind of a hidden 'Moria').  This would force players to have to mine the mountains to find the Halls.  Structurally, they would include a great hall (hence the name), penetrating sun/moon beams for atmosphere, numerous anterooms/side rooms, maybe some cool banners/shields, and quite a bit of loot.  One feature I'd also add would be a hidden mineshaft that extends down to y=-59.  You could even tie them into the abandoned mine shafts, if you wanted to develop that backstory.  I don't think we'd need any more new mobs (Warden coming up via a hidden mineshaft?), but maybe some unique Mountaineer loot would be nice.

The mountains feel kind of empty. You could possibly add a new structure; such as an abandoned tent. You just don't gain much by going to a mountain.

Mojang, PLEASE, don’t delete icy caves under the mountains in Minecraft(as in 1.16.230.56). I guess, it’s unintentional, but they are really cool!! it would be a great biome!

Due to varying performance, varying world heights are needed. With 1.17 coming mountains are being heightened, while caves are being deepened. Because mountains themselves vary, we can adjust the world height accordingly. For example, if in world generation a mountain that would stand a glorious 204 blocks tall was generated, it would be an exemption to the world height, while any of the player's builds would be restricted from being built if a significant distances outward from that mountain. If a cave generated below a wonder of –48, bedrock would generate so that it would rap around that cave like a wall. This could be cool, as it would make a pit that the player could not mine out of but only pillar.                                                                                                                                              If one knew their computer was capable of processing so much information, they could decrease the slope by which the build limit would also be decreased.
