Mountains should generate taller. As of the latest snapshot, most mountans are still only about 180 blocks tall. The 320 block world height upgrade became unused.

There should also be structures in the future, such as abandoned castles and mountain cabins. There's nothing to find there. Ice caves and waterfalls with hidden loot will be great, too!

I agree that there should be howling wind audio for mountains, as well as echo reverb audio in caves!

Please add the freeze mechanic when the player reach certain high altitude on the mountain biomes, so the leather armor can prevent that, making it more useful.

(That can be added to the frozen rivers and lakes too...)

I would really like to see higher mountains and more volcanoes with hot springs, lava vents, snow, and villages by volcano made out of volcanic blocks or ash.

Ever since the switch to the new, biome-independent terrain generation, mountains have been underwhelming. I cannot find any of the massive ranges of 256-block tall mountains that I was finding before. Consider altering the terrain generation specifically within mountain biomes so that the mountains look like mountains as opposed to snowy hills.

Here's some Mountain feedback: the new mountains would be better if they were like 20-30 blocks higher than what they are, and a new biome that can be added to Minecraft in the Nether is the mountainous, adventurous Wrecked Heights! Just see my post I made in the Minecraft Feedback website named "Wrecked Heights Biome In Nether(ContainsNEWContent)As New Mountain Biome" in the link below for all the details on this cool biome that even includes new ores to mine in the Nether like Titanium, Nickel,  and Silver, and could bring awareness to endangered plants like  Western Underground Orchids and the nearly cylinder-shaped green pitcher plants.

    Wrecked Heights Biome

To Mojang & developers and other Minecraft players: if you see this post please look into it and you'll be pleasured, have fun, and be amused!

I hope enjoys the Caves and Cliffs Update, and hopefully the Wrecked Heights, which is a new natural mountain biome for the Nether just as the Overworld got more mountains (which the Nether does not yet have), gets added eventually, too!

Why aren't there granite peaks like Yosemite or the Canadian black peaks? Or even andesite ridges on the sides of mountains like there was an old volcanic landslide?

If it's at all possible, please find a way to make sure mountains generate as mountains and not some misshapen thing that's barely even recognizable as a mountain because the randomizer decided that said mountain needed to have all the caves spawn there, to the point where it's maybe a third of a mountain (most of the time even less than that) with a big bite taken out of it and floating blocks everywhere. Also, I've done /locatebiome with mountain/peak biomes where I've teleported there and...there's no mountain. There's a flat bit of stone and/or snow there, but no mountain.

I think that the jagged peaks and stony peaks should generate limestone.

Fanatic work like aways but the cloud level seems low, and it's hard to find the new mountains. Maybe add ice caves with ice spikes. Other than that the mountains are phenomenal. Thank you for the new up date.

Love em, just wish i knew their final heights when they cut off at 255. Hate that, I like the flat tops but sometimes im like: damn, this mountain would have been way tall!

Ok so from my experience playing I have 2 main issues:

Generation isn’t as smooth as it could be; Biomes frequently stretch a 1000 blocks

I find that the flat areas should be smoother and lower lying as they don’t really serve their function of being good building areas. Too often a river will flow through creating a ditch, and you get a similar effect with beaches. Which is particularly annoying if you want a beachside build because gradual transitions are best for that.
However I do enjoy the cliff effect that stony shore’s give when transitioning higher elevations into the ocean.
Large Caves also intersect the surface too frequently. Though it can be beautiful when you find one it seems to happen quite frequently, producing pit falls and tearing up the terrain.  Personally I think small cave entrances at the surface and larger caves generally being deeper would be for the best because you then have a difficulty gradient as the deeper you go there are more big caves which have more dark spaces.
Then some Biomes are just too big, especially with the rougher terrain travelling is slower and so crossing a 700 by 700 plains to find something new is arduous.

Abandoned Cabins or ditched tents structures with extinguished campfires for the mountains since there are no structures that can generate there. Chest loot could consist of pickaxes (enchanted or not), maybe food, iron nuggets, emeralds, paper, books, snow, wood logs, coal, torches, lanterns and leather boots (enchanted or not).

I hope we get surface volcanoes in the future - stratovolcanos made of cinders - a black sand type block that doesn’t convert like concrete, Shield volcanos made of swirls of basalt, rift volcanos (ravines filled with lava), and calderas - big craters with hydrothermal activity and a big magma chamber underneath.

Yooo, me and my friend have been part of the Mogang community for a while now, but something I’ve noticed is that it takes up a lot of blocks to get to the top of a mountain.

I think there should be a new biome called the mountain range biome and it would be a mountain biome exept a larger scale becuase the current mountains are tall and skinny
