Powder Snow should generate much more oftenly and much bigger patches! Maybe generating more and more oftenly the higher you go? Would be really interesting and Leather Boots would actually be a relevant option

I think the new mountains are great. I like how they are steep and dominating, but it would be nice to also have ones generating with more gradual slopes, but which would still lead up to the colossal heights of these new peaks. This could be done by making the terrain height independent of biome, and instead give each block a value for a continuous 'depth' parameter, which would control the average height of terrain. Also, a local water level could be tied to the depth parameter and be used to generate mountain-level lakes and rivers.

Another suggestion would be to have some variation in certain decorations. For example, tree density could vary and could thin out smoothly as a transition between a forested biome and non-forested biome.

It would also be great if mountainous terrain (cliffs and overhangs) were a proper part of other biomes in the game too, rather than just the mountain/hill types.

Finally, perhaps the grass and foliage colours of the new mountain biomes could be made a little more vibrant - currently, if the player wishes to build in a mountain biome, they are restricted only to dull, blueish grass.

As they have added bundles, rabbit hide has become valuable. Rabbits should spawn way more frequently in the new mountains (perhaps at a significant height) to motivate players who might not seek anything else the heights have to offer.

I am worried about this new update. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the new taller, majestic mountains. but at the same time I really like the old mountain formations where you have Giant overhangs, arches, and near floating island masses of rock that seem to defy gravity. It gives Minecraft a great touch of randomness, chaos, and un-predictable-ness, that me and a number of people really like. I am worried that this new update will remove those features forever. A possible solution could be, if its not too much to ask, is that you add a mountain biome or sub-biome (like the ones you just announced) that still generates mountains in the old chaotic manner like it used to. It would really be appreciated by Minecraft veterans who remember playing with those older CRAZIER cliffs.

Thankyou for listening to my feedback - Ourworldalpha1

The new mountains look cooler than the old mountains, but you can make the elytres over the mountains and over colder biomes freeze and them from opening. I think this is a cool idea, but what do you think?

The new mountains (and their sub-biomes) should also generate on biomes like jungles, but without snow.

some of the higher mountains have what looks like glaciers in them, and i love that! i think its the perfect opportunity to add mountain lakes in the core of the mountains, just like the ones IRL product of melted glaciers.

I really think the build limit should go to 512 and the mountains should go up to 485, that way it actually takes time and dedication to climb these gigantic mountains! And this would be for y’all to decide, but there should be some big reward for claiming to the top! These huge mountains and increased build limit would make for some incredible views, and builds! We could also have great waterfalls! My favorite thing about this Updike the bigger mountains, but I think it would be better if we had some of the best views in gaming! RTX and player made shaders would make it even more pretty! And don’t forget that we could also build even more massive builds too!, but these mountains? We are talking like, Mount Everest levels of tall and challenging! I’m so excited for this update!

      Sincerely, Mew

Powdered snow in mountain biomes should generate at least 2 blocks deep, so there is a significant risk when exploring without leather boots.

Caves don't generate in mountains though. I tried looking for caves and have not found any. Please fix this bug

I feel like the new mountains are too rare. Also, maybe the rarity of the new mountains should be the same with Extreme Hills biome's rarity. Extreme Hills shouldn't be called Extreme Hills since they aren't big compared to the new mountains.

Along with being sort of a rarity, I think having more mountains would improve the view of the game. I also think the way the foliage spawns in and around the mountains should be modified a bit. U get there weird line of spruce trees which look a bit unnatural. Maybe make a bit more realistic with patches in and around the base of the mountain getting sparser as it reaches the top. Especially in snowy peaks sometimes on the highest altitudes there are a bunch of trees which looks kinda weird maybe stick to singular trees spawning at the top instead of in groups. Also powdered snow it would be nice to see ravines or pits filled in powdered snow to be a trap. And make it harder to access the highest peaks. I think improving the way the flora spawns around the mountains would polish them up really well and make them a sight to see.

It would be nice if there were ambient sounds on the tops of the new mountains, perhaps adding the sounds of the mountain wind

Can we get new cloud generation with different types, like irl clouds? Maybe we can get the normal clouds as a base layer, and then big tall clouds for storms? This would fit really well with the new mountains since you could use the peaks to see over the tops of clouds.

I would love to see the "Mountain Midow" biome more common because it looks amazing and looks like big hills. I think that actually all base biomes of the mountain should sometimes generate on their own and quite big too, but I especially love Mountain Midows so please make them generate alone sometimes too, they look amazing.

On Java Edition 21w10a, I've noticed that iron is rarer in the ground, but really abundant in high climates. I like this because if you want tons of iron (early or late game), you can climb up mountains or shattered savanna biomes. I also like iron being rarer underground because it makes progression throughout the game more interesting and challenging.

I think that the ice covered parts of the mountains should have crevasses (deep holes in the ice) so that players have to build across them and it would overall make the climb harder, more intimidating, and realistic.

I'd like to find more grassy, plainy mountaintops sometimes rather than snow all the way
even mixing in snow layer patches with grassy slopes at the top would be nice

To preface this, I really like the new mountains, they are a great improvement to Minecraft. However, here are a few ideas that I think would improve upon what was added in beta.

     1. Make the mountains into larger mountain ranges that span across thousands of blocks.

         a. There can still be lone peaks but make them look more like lone peaks (reference mountains such as Mt. Shasta, etc.)

2.Add multiple biomes on the mountain relating to elevation, such as alpine and add new trees. Trees should also get sparser and smaller as elevation increases.

        a. Add animals like marmots/pikas to alpine biome?

In addition to that, It would be cool to add a new biome called "foothills" and basically foothills will always generate right below mountains. You could have variants of foothills, for example "forested foothills" etc to create more variation.

Below the foothills you could add another biome called like "sagebrush flatlands". Past the sagebrush flatlands you could have deserts, savannas, mesas, etc. So to quickly recap, there'd be a continuum of biomes that will generate, from green/colder biomes to drier biomes as it gets further from the mountains.

Mountains can also be made more colorful by adding flowers to the slopes of the mountains. Meadows would also be a good addition.

Finally, another cool addition would also be creeks, streams, and waterfalls that flow from the mountains and join into a river flowing away from the mountains and carrying it into larger lakes or oceans.

mountains should be cone shaped with a wide base. there should be mountain ranges on the continents, in the same way that rivers are generated.
some wrinkled and some smooth. all of them with variations of stones giving a rocky appearance.

I think now would be a good time to add abandoned castles as large structures on top of these snowy mountains, towering close to the 320 world limit. Filled with adventure, challenging mobs, loot, and perhaps new mobs and items. Would be a good place for the illusioner. Huge abandoned castles on top of mountains is a very popular idea in the Minecraft community that should be added soon!

The new mountains are great, the fact that they are filled with emeralds are a grat reward to players who climb them, but i would make them just a little more common, not that common tought. And some tweaks to the old mountains, like fixing the weird floating terrains, and make them generate with less exposed stone woud improve things.

I hope the emeralds in the mountains are all at least exposed/partially exposed, as i cant see anyone mining through a mountain for emerald, thank for amazing snapshot.

The biggest problem with the new mountains is that you can look for 10 minutes and find a pile of powder snow.

First of all, I’d like to say all the devs have done such an incredible job for this game which is a global phenomenon and a phenomenal community they’ve been so incredibly cooperative and walkways have shown interest in listening to the community, and as someone who’s played for a while and have been privileged with the being able to see this game grow, personally I would love to see biomes that are more likely to spawn near the updated because currently they look very underwhelming and quite honestly slightly disappointing when I see a little savanna or jungle hill compared to how clean the mountain generation looks, so I’d really love to see some change there and hopefully the devs can eventually update all hill generation to clean things up. And it would be really cool to see deeper ocean’s aswell.

Thank you to all the incredible Minecraft devs!

    Mountain Occurrence
As with all the other comments I think that the old mountains are too common and the new mountains are too rare. And the new mountains should be more common but less commonly big (height wise) , though still bigger than extreme hills. IRL mountains form in mountain ranges though Minecraft just plops down 1 or 2 peaks then calls it a day. New mountains could generate next to each other in a curve/line similar to real life and be more common near coasts (maybe a mountain range biome would generate in a range and a mountain biome would just generate one mountain.)

    Mountain Looks
The extreme hills should be upgraded to be maybe just mountain meadows and lofty peaks. Also in my opinion the new mountains look slightly off. The mountain meadows and mountain groves should be more sloped while the peaks should be steeper. Just like the extreme hills the hill variants of all the biomes seem a little bit small and wimpy compared to the new mountains so a birch mountain or savanna mountain which would act like smaller new mountains but biome-ified. (the plateau biomes should also be upgraded.)

Instead of deleting the old generation, I think you could rework the old generations too, turning them into plateaus with hight stepped stone walls, you know?

Do you think you could add different Biomed mountains, a badlands mountain would be cool (Something reminiscent of table mountain in south africa) and could you add waterfalls on the side of mountains (I like waterfalls and I feel like we don't have enough) because a lot of mountains have waterfalls at lower levels, jungle, and forest mountains would also be nice (They would be less common, but mountains vary so much in real life) also different types of mountains (Such as plateaus or overhangs) would be great, and also mountain villages would be really cool (especially if we got a new villager type).
