Owls

This animal would be able to be tamed like parrots and can sit on your shoulder but the difference between the two would be that the owl can deliver signed books and but in the authors space you would write the name of the person you would want to send it to

    It would be cool if in 5% of its delivery some kind of book for an enchantment could appear, for example, repair (the rarest) or armor piercing

    If Mojang want to add it for the next biome update, dark oak forest would be great and also taiga biome!

    If this get's added, I hope they add different colored owls as well. I would then proceed to tame a gray owl and name it clockwerk.

    Maybe Owls could ride you and fly like parrots but also be tamed and defend you since they are predators

    I think itd be cool if owls could maybe fetch u one entity from a biome. Example, you spawn in a messa and there's very little trees and u want just a piece of bamboo or a sapling to start growing things. The owl could fetch it for u maybe for the price of feeding fish or something to the owl. Also what if there was a wizard villager?! A rare villager who had an owl for a pet and sold unique enchanted books or a different species of owl you could only get through him!

    They could come in white, grey, and brown, all being speckled and hunt rabbits and spawn at night. They could be found in the taiga, tundra, and dark oak forest, eating rabbits and all other small rodents added to the game in the future.

    Was if Owls could function as a parrot which actually helps you in the way that wolves and cats do by attacking hostile mobs? It could fly into the face of hostile mobs and sink its talons into them as they slowly die. Not to mention having an avian companion that could do damage would be extremely useful as they could attacks flying mobs such as phantoms blazes and even the ender dragon. Also another idea i have is that perhaps owls could be immune to potions so if you use option on an owl it could then  "carry" the effect and it would affect anything it attacks with the effect of the potion placed on it.

    With the 1.16 update on the horizon,  I suggest that Lodestones get extra functionality if owls become a reality. I imagine they should be able to be sent to specific lodestones by clicking them with the respective compasses, while carrying a limited amount of whatever item. (I really love owls and think they'd be great for the feel of the game, and I think this form of item transport is unique and not a stretch to be put in the game)

    I can really only see them dropping feathers and little to no exp. 

    I also have a few thoughts on their spawning. I'd imagine the owls would spawn in taigas, snowy taigas, mega taigas, roofed forests, and perhaps swamps at night time, so there is risk involved in attempt to befriend one.

    I like this idea, work the same as parrots except found in other forests not jungle.
    Except I would say, the special help the owl brings, is when it is on your shoulder you get night vision, it would also hoot only once sun begins to set and overnight. So you can guess the time if you're underground.

    I think that a tamed one should occasionally bring you raw chicken, raw rabbit, feathers, and maybe an rare iron ingot because Birds like shiny things. I would love to see the great horned owl, barred owl, and maybe the arctic owl

    That is a great idea, maybe you can have an owl nest/cage. Which the user gives the command to an owl to go in it to make it a delivery spot and every time you give it a signed book it'll deliver it there. Also maybe have hawks and ravens as a option in other biomes so there is diversity

    You can also do a command like ‘/owlrealease  to get it off your shoulder.
