      Some suggestions

      Why would they be good?

      - spooky at night-time

      What could they be like?

      - live in dark forest and plains
      - make eerie hooting noises
      - hunt rabbits
      - you can train them, with rabbit, but difficult
      - have baby owls
      - spawn at sunset
      - different colours - brown, black, white
      - they would drop owl feathers
      - craft into potion of night-vision
      - in the day-time they sleep in trees
      - will attack player if you wake them

And perhaps they'd only spawn at night. They hoot and stare at players. If tamed, they'll also carry a mini inventory wherein you can use it to store and deliver items to other players if in case it's multiplayer. It flies when it is your companion but sits at trees if the player stops walking.

I think that with the new flying attack mechanics (phantom) minecraft should add owls as a bird that spawns at night but is friendly. It should spawn in forests specifically in dark wood forests, and hunt bats and rabbits. There could be a glove for the offhand that they can perch on.

This is an extremely good and well-designed idea. However, I'm wondering how you would tame Owls. In real life, Owls usually eat meat or leather to get tamed. Maybe we could use this in Minecraft too. For instance, if you want to tame an owl, you might have to carry leather to bring one towards you, and then use a raw rabbit or some other meat to feed it, taming it. Adding on, this could also lead to the potential possibility of adding Eagles and other different mobs that you can tame. In reality, Minecraft only has a few animals you can tame, and most of them can't really interact with a player in that much of a way. By adding Owls that can deliver messages, this would completely change how we look at pets, whether in a good or bad way. Maybe when an owl delivers a book, it uses up its energy, so you'll have to feed it. The problem with this is then: Why can't you just use your chat? In Minecraft, when you press T, it opens up a chat in which you can say anything to any player. If you use the command /whisper (which isn't a cheat command, you can access it in survival), you can talk to another player privately. Maybe Mojang could add this owl feature and nerf the chat, so the only way to talk to someone privately is via owl? Despite this problem, owls in a whole is a great idea, and since Owls are nocturnal, I especially like the idea that for once, there is an animal that doesn't attack us in the night. Maybe if we tame the owl, instead of delivering messages, owls can protect us from animals such as phantoms or (if minecraft adds this) vultures and Eagles.

Should spawn at night time and makes owl sounds in forest. You would hear owl sounds even there is no owls near indicating it's hard to find and gives more life in forests. Placing torch near to tree where owl is, it would scare owl away from a hiding place so the owl starts to fly away from player to find a new place where to hide.

Maybe not an Owl but a Pheonix. Just to not keep things bland.

I'm not sure about the book idea. When will the owl send it? What if the recipient isn't online? Will the owl load all the chunks its in? What about other items?
Too much to figure out. If bees take up a whole update, maybe this would too. No need to waste time. Maybe they could be copies of parrots but for normal forests

It would be interesting to develop the trust mechanic with these, like, you can only tame a owl that trusts you or you need to gain it's trust after being tamed.
I woulb be simple, to tame you'll need a rabbit's foot and to gain it's trust you'll need rabbit meat.
If they hunt rabbits, they could drop it's hide or bones after some time ( assuming they eat the meat )
It would also be neat if their flight was a mix of phantom and parrots ( while hunting or following the player from a certain distance, they would fly like phantoms, and when near the player that tamed them, they would fly like parrots)

Было бы круто если бы в 5% её доставки могла появиться какая-нибудь книга на зачар например починка (самая редкая) или же бронебойность
