    This is basically saying screw you builders, stay out of deserts, Mesa’s, and Savannah’s. If Mojang wants to make the biomes BETTER then termites would be an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE edition to these already rarely lived in biomes. Termites would make everyone less likely to want to build in these biomes. This is a god awful idea, and I am outraged that it is in the announcements.

    How I think termites should be taken care of:

    -TNT

    -Fire(Magma Blocks,etc)

    -Water

    -Some type of trap that could kill the termites, or a potion or oil of some sort you could add to wood to repel them.

    What about like a special item, like a termite swatter? Recipie:

    I = Iron

    S = stick

    A = air

    I I I

    I S I

    A S A

    We can not have termites that destroy wood builds! I know termites are coming, so please just make them an animated texture type of thing on the sides of a new block called a "termite hill." I think a lot of people who build with wood will agree with me, and I have plans to build massive wood towns in both biomes this says they will come to so I'm more than a little mad. Especially since you wouldn't have any time to build because you would be chasing away the termites the whole time. Thank you for reading this. Have a great day.

    To prevent infestations they should have a mechanism where they start in trees then if h use the log it will start to eat at wood in savanas and things like that to prevent it from becoming a horrid pest like the phantom

    I really hope that wont happen. Termites sounds like more of an annoyance than a good addition to the game.

    Termites would cause lots of trouble for people trying to build with wood. I get that meerkats could eat them, but what do you do before you have the available resources to get one? I fine with termites being added, but there should be an item to repel them and be easy to craft, like the soul torch, but easier to obtain.

    I think termites would be horrible if they were in Minecraft.

    I think that termites should also be passive if they are in termite mounds, which could be tall structures like bee nests that up to 3 termites can live in. Like real termite mounds, they could grow mushrooms, which could be harvested with shears, etc. when full, like bee nests to get mushrooms.

If you place a termite mound near your house, the termites would live there, meaning they don’t eat your house, and you get mushrooms.

    Or an anteater so the can help with them to but they can also take out thier nest and the anteater could be tamed with with like frute or a seed and to breed them and you put a lead on them

    Say the have a nest and it looks simular to a coral would like a bunch of mounds next to each other as if it was a village or something and the only to get the mound is with silk touch but you can break it with a tool but it wont be a block u can place down and you will be able to catch a termite with a bottle or somethine incase someone want to make an inclosure for them to have as pets or something and if you break a nest the termite will do something to you and if the nest is destroyed then it drop termite eggs to where they only way to hatch them is by having a mound and the mound is where the can reprodce more of them without having to breed them like the other mobs so the only way to get rid of the to break the nest

    I think termites should be at around 1 block big like bees and work in a colony: the queen, the workers, the soldiers. The workers would exit the nest and collect wood and dropped items to bring back to the nest in storage rooms and could potentially have a soldier bodyguard following it. They would guard the entrance to the nest and will attack anyone who tries to enter. If a player successfully enters the nest the soldiers will call for backups if there are any present when the player breaks in. The queen could be a mini boss and the heart of the hive. She will continue producing termites until she dies and when she does, the termites will slowly start to die. I have no idea for the prize that would drop from killing the queen but it would certainly get rid of an infestation.

    I have another idea that you could increase your reputation with the nest by giving the worker termites wood. The termites will become more friendly and will allow you into their nest after a while. You could use this as cover during the night and you could access their storage rooms for items (they would have a new type of storage block). You could probably be allowed to trade with them in some way too. There would also be a downside: if you hurt or kill one of them your reputation will lower.

    PS: I was inspired in the myrmex in the ice and fire mod.

    Amazing suggtion I like it's freezing aspect as long as you don't attack them they won't destroy your wood,or let them attack any near wood based block but add termite eaters to protect you if you help them.

    I am not so sure about termites.
    I don't like destructive things. I thought creepers were enough!

    As cool as an idea this is, I dont think it fits well with Minecraft. This seems like a old modpack you would download not the actual vanilla game

    Termites should have a same kind of twist from real life as was done with bees. In-game termites could be much larger than the real ones - worker termite could be the size of baby hoglin, soldier termite could be the size of hoglin and queen termite could be the size of ravager.

    Being this big, they could then have large nests in Savannah biome and these nests could be the natural way of getting grey concrete and perhaps some other color concrete as well. The nest itself should consists "the mountain" that's above the ground level (about size 20-30 concrete blocks so you can spot it from distance) and then the actual nest underground should be similar size to a Bastion or to Nether Fortress and the nest tunnels would go deep down to level 20 or so (above lava level) and span over 64-128 blocks to all directions. There could be smaller and larger nests depending on how "old" the nest is. The tunnels would consist new types of fungus that could be used for brewing recipes.

    The nest would consist lots of termite tunnels made of concrete and it would have various rooms like termite queen's lair, ventilation shafts, food storages, termite egg rooms and so on.

    The termites would be blind so basically they can't chase the players for long and they would eat dead bush, cut grass, sugar cane and perhaps tree logs as well. They would be neutral by nature but if player enters their nest, they would get alerted by the intruder and attack players they encounter in the nest tunnels.
