Do it Mojang, it's Our Problem if our Pc or our Router can not run it, but give us the Possibility to try it.

I completely agree. This low render distance also makes mobs extremely more prevalent. I've had 6 - 8 mobs chasing me at once, seen mobs spawn directly in front of me, and it's all due to the poor render distance. I think it's pretty poor to offer a subscription service, and then give a sub-par experience for paying customers. Honestly, right now, i think hosting my own server would be waaay better. Realms is decent, but the fact that I'm being made to pay for it, and have render distance lowered waaay down makes the service a waste of money for me. It makes no sense. Rendering is processed by the client hardware if I'm not mistaken, so why is realms limited.
As you said, it is a massive deal breaker, and immediately makes the service not worth it for me

Just managed to upload our beautiful island and ocean world to Realms - great for spyglass, we wanted to make it more accessible to play from various devices.

This isn't worth it - every island is now a beach in a fog - no more great views.

This just isn't worth it, not for a well paid service.

Google can run Stadia, Microsoft itself can run XCloud. But we can't get a real render distance for our paid realms. BS, if I wasn't playing cross platform java all the way.

If I was richer than the top 10 richest people in the world together I would still not pay for a realm. In fact I would pay people not too use it cause this is how horrible 10 render distance is. It is like being blind but in a game. There is no difference in the game experience when I turn my screen off because I feel equally as lost with it on as I do with it off. Please make it a minimum of 16 but if possible up too 48. Then I would consider it worth it and maybe recommend it.

How is it this STILL NOT CHANGED?!

Make it so that WE can decide the render distance! I can't see ANYTHING when I'm trying to explore, I've been having huge issues trying to find just a Nether Fortress because I can see NOTHING past the lava seas!

personally id pay a premium for a 15-25 chunk render distance, please get this done minecraft! I would go for an alternative server hosting platform but then console players would be excluded from joining my server.

We really need this update. It's been so long.

We got a 30 days trial of Realms. We have turned off the auto-renewal subscription because we are used to 72 chunk render distance on pc. We wanted Realms so we could always login individually without a friend as host.
The low render distance on Realms brakes the game if you are above ground and it is not worth the money.

To be honest I expected more from a server center.

I definitely think that there should be a higher render distance for Minecraft Realms. Especially with 1.18 the current cap on the render distance would take away that immersion with Minecraft saying how grandiose everything will be and not being able to take it all in. I totally understand the technical difficulty side of things and think that it should be only implemented into the next generation consoles and Windows 10 because of this. But it does suck paying $8/month for something that could be majorly improved with the new hardware.

This. More then ever, with the pending 1.18 update, we need higher render distance. You can't see to the roofs of caves (they appear white) and you can't look at the new mountains. The spy glass is useless bc it exceeds the render distance

This is terrible, I’m switching to hosting my own server for this reason alone. What’s the point of exploring or making large builds if you literally can’t see anything.

I will be cancelling my realms subscription because of this issue.

Agreed this needs to be improved even if it requires a more premium subscription. It should be minimum 16 chunks render distance as you usually don't need more but it can be very jarring with less and minimum 8 chunks simulation distance for consistent mob spawning. I don't use realms due to the really low render and simulation distance and am currently using apex hosting and I doubt I'm alone in that so Microsoft/mojang are just losing out here by not fixing this.

Been years now... Feels like they'll never do this. It's so frustrating that things that aren't even that far away stop working. I use a realm because it's easy for my friends on bedrock on console to join at any time because you can't connect to an IP address on a console (Well.. not without some DNS stuff that most of them won't want to bother with). Why must it be so small for everyone?

I can't wait for 1.18 where I can't see the top of mountains! Seriously please upgrade the render distance. I'm paying for a subscription thats years behind. I don't even mind if you scale it dynamically based on amount of players on the server. That would still mean having a good render distance when playing alone or with two people.

Earlier this year there was an attempt to increase the sim distance on realms that didn't work out in the end. With 1.18's epic terrain generation and the addition of sim distance to Java Edition, please redirect the resources from that effort toward increasing the render distance instead. While a higher sim distance would also be nice, the low render distance does a lot more to make the Realms experience feel disappointing.

Me and my friends do a realm every update and the render distance ruins the experience for us sometimes. We can never see our houses and traveling is not fun with the poor visibility. With the new 1.18 update we started living in the mountains but I can't even see where I'm going because I can't even see the top of the mountain or the bottom, its so claustrophobic and looks and feels terrible to play on. Please Mojang we all play on Xbox one X's or PC, they're all high end and can support it. if you could bump it up to 30-80 that would be greatly appreciated, the Minecraft experience has been somewhat ruined with the low render distance, especially this update.

Can't even see the new caves and cliffs with this atrocious render distance. What is even the point of dumping all this development into features the users can't even use? All the members of my 10 person realm agree.

It is as I expected. You cannot see the top if a mountain or end of a cave on realms right now. I'd suggest to dynamically scale the render distance based on number of players as a start. If there were alternatives to have a cross platform realm I would get that instead. But you have a monopoly on cross platform servers with Bedrock Realms. So please! Put in the effort and increase the render distance.

    Voting with my wallet.
I won't re-enable my realms subscription until this is fixed.

This is important to me as well. I started a realms server so that I can play with my cousin who plays on xbox, and my computer is easily capable of rendering 60+ chunks. I'm paying money for a dedicated server that isn't capable of rendering anywhere near to what my computer is actually capable of, and it's so disappointing to not be able to view some of the magnificent additions in 1.18 when I play with my cousin. Please allow the owner of the realm server to manually adjust the realms maximum render distance (within reason of course, but the more the better) and then allow for separate localized settings per user/client.

I subscribed to Realms Plus to host a server for friends who were getting back into the game for 1.18. After seeing the extremely limited view distance, I immediately cancelled my subscription. This is a game breaking restriction as far as I’m concerned, as you can’t even see the top of a structure built to the maximum world height *pre 1.18* from the ground.

I was willing to pay $8 a month for simple cross platform play and to avoid the hassle of hosting my own dedicated server, but this bizarre limitation is an instant dealbreaker.

My friends and I just could not believe the audacity of Microsoft to charge premium rates like these and to lock the render distance so low. I just canceled my Realms subscription, this is garbage. Only 10 players is also lame but this is inexcusable.

Now that Caves and Cliffs Part 2 has been released, this is bigger issue than ever. Playing on a Realm is convenient, but the poor render distance takes a lot away from the new terrain generation.

I would love to see Realms have good render distance around 20. And for those who can't run that high, they should be able to see their max render distance. Those with good hardware should not be capped because others have worse hardware.

I'm annoyed that I have to pay ~8€ a month and not be able to see.

And not to sound like I hate the game, I love this. Render distance just takes a lot away if you play on realms.

Render Distance for realms on 1.18 should be a minimum of 24 chunks, please make this happen Microsoft

Haven't played the game since before Caves & Cliffs, and my partner and I were really excited to get a realm up and running with a new world and fresh start to experience the finished update. Was really puzzled when I crafted a spyglass for the first time ever and could barely see anything through it :/ I spent a little bit of time looking around in settings wondering how I could up the render distance and decided to do some internet searching. This is all fairly disappointing to read. The low/capped render distance is rather immersion breaking, and those with higher end devices should be able to set the view distances themselves. Especially those with RTX capable cards, we were so excited to get to see the world of MC in a way we've never experienced before but the limited view really does takes away from the experience.

Love Minecraft with all my heart, it is my absolute favorite game in the world, I hope Mojang will consider giving the option to set our own render distances in Realms. It really does take away from the experience of the game.

Considering the performance better of bedrock and the high price tag of realms to begin with this paints my overall view on realms in a negative light...

it is a little upsetting because the low render distance and yet the server is still very slow and glitchy with server time going out of sync just from exploring the world. Really not impressed with Microsoft's cloud resources, going to see if another hosting service is better otherwise I can self host something faster for cheaper.

The forced render distance ruins the experience. I'd like to go back to no caves and cliffs update if it meant I could see what we build and take a screenshot of it without fog or low render distance getting in the way.

I'd host a server if I could, but bedrock players are stuck with realms since they removed the option to direct connect to privately hosted servers.

I'd happily pay more for a realm that isn't limited!
