Hey, just another annoyed customer complaining about the whole "I can't see more than 200 blocks in front of me" thing. I've been with Minecraft since the start and I've never left a complaint, but I'm really REALLY tired of this weak render distance in Realms. Minecraft kind of sucks unless you can see far. It gets old, quick. Big views are where the whole incentive to explore and go do things comes from. With no incentive to play the game, I have no incentive to pay monthly for an unsatisfactory server. If you build a house on a mountain, you should be able to see it from the ground... If you building a huge mine... you should be able to see the back of it. Your servers should be top of the line and premium if we're paying for it, but instead, you've got stacks on stacks of disappointed people and It's astonishing that so many of us would be willing to pay extra for extra render distance but you're not doing anything about it. PLEASE fix it...

I uploaded my world to realms so my friends could play on it when I'm not home, and honestly I was disappointed. Coming from 32 chunks with 3 other friends at the same time (no server lag), to 10 chunks with a fog effect is a dealbreaker. You can't even upgrade the RAM to get a father render distance, only the amount of players it can host (useless when I only have 3 friends that play). We're not hardcore players so I was drawn in by the price, but I expected a 16 chunk render distance at least.

I was confused at first why my render distance on my realm with my friends was so low. Seeing this post, I understand now. I have an RTX 3060 graphics card, so it can handle rendering a few more chunks with shaders. Immersion sometimes feels broken with the low render distance. This has been the same on Java Edition. Voted.

This is Minecraft, not Silent Hill, so when we play on Realms servers, we shouldn't be limited to a foggy Silent Hill render distance. And for the prices of Realms subscriptions, our performance is much lower than cheaper third-party alternatives. Raise the rendering distance to 32 chunks on Realms.

Just adding my voice here. MSFT really needs to do either:

    1. Improve the render a simulation distance for Realms

    2. Offer a premium realms offering that costs more, but provides a larger render/simulation distance.

    3. Allow users to access 3rd party servers on Xbox and other consoles.

I think MSFT would find that many people would be happy to pay more for a premium experience if that's the route they chose to go.

I was running a private Bedrock server for a while and it was great. Then, we wanted to invite a friend that can only play on console. We found out we can't do it unless we pay for Realms. Such a scam, but we decided to do it anyway. Now, we can play together but we can't see anything because the render distance is tiny. What is going on? How can you force people to pay a subscription to play together while also making the game barely playable? What are we even paying for?

The viewing distance on realms plus is unacceptable. Raise the rendering distance to 32 chunks or offer a higher tier subscription.

The current render distance limit on Realms is just unacceptably low. I've been playing Minecraft for over 12 years and haven't had to use a render distance this low since 2010.

This is especially relevant with the Caves and Cliffs update, you cannot see the tops of mountains with such a low render distance.

Very disappointed to find out just how short the render distance is. might be dramatic to say, but the game is honestly unplayable. has there been any recent news on this? This shouldn't even be a problem, yet here we are. I just got realms, but will definitely be cancelling after just 1 day.

It is absolutely infuriating that we can’t use minecart systems over relatively short distances on these realms. I can’t send a minecart chest from one end of an abandoned mineshaft to the other. The render distance is inhibiting some of the game’s best features.

The low render distance in realms really ruins the immersion and feeling of togetherness, I can only see half of my base from my friends base and vice versa. What's the point of paying if we don't even get the option to increase it?

I'm so sick and tired of Bedrock having such blatant restrictions all because they thought It'd be such a great idea to make EVERY platform share the same version of the game. It all boils down to both console and pc players being held back by mobile/ios versions of this game. I have nothing against people who play it on those devices. Seriously, play on what you like, but you can't deny that it's overwhelmingly obvious this version was made with those platforms being the lead in the design choice of this game now...

Every time I look at the menus, the render distance, and other such design choices, I miss both the 360 and Xbox One versions of this game (because consoles are all my friends play on, so if we want to play together, making realms very important to us.....). But regardless, there's no reason I should take a realms world and download it to play on it by myself and be able to see several chunks out past where I could on the realm.

TL/DR: Fix Bedrock. No excuse for this. How dare you, both Mojang and Microsoft.

I can't believe they haven't fixed this after 5 years.

OP stated that Render/View distance on Realms was a deal breaker, it certainly was for me. I love the distance on my single player worlds, and decided to try Realms so that I could play with my Adult children and my grandchildren but could not tolerate the view distance, so I cancelled my Realms Subscription and now I pay a hosting service that gives me a view distance of 32. I would much prefer to pay my money to Mojang for a Realms with that kind of view distance, I would pay an increased fee for that as well. On my hosted server there are never more than 3 people at a time and there are some extra hurdles to jump through should I want to change game difficulty etc. so, as I stated I would much prefer to stat within realms if I could get the view distance.

yes, I cancelled my Realms due to this and I agree I would pay an increase in my sub to get an increase in distance. My minimum would be at least 32...

Also add deadzone slider to console/bedrock it is impossible for controller players to compete with keyboard and mouse. It’s so easy please add it.

For me the render distance limit was just a mild annoyance, but I started working on a superstructure/megabase and I cant even render the whole thing in, it made me realize just how absurd the limit really is.

If Mojang could solve the hardware issue, they could raise the minimum Apple iOS version to 14.

You might want to try a simulation distance of 4 chunks and a render distance of 20 chunks on your Minecraft world, just to see what the Realms experience could be like.

For everyone that has this gripe still with the 20 chunk render distance it now has, you can still use the DNS trick on series X and ps5 from what I've tested so far and you can join dedicated private servers that allow whatever the server owner allows (its 36 chunk render to match current gen consoles with 6 sim on my i5 7500 server with 4 people and theres virtually no lag at all until we start trident flying)
