Sandstorms

Sandstorm weather cycles in hot biomes like desert, and mesa. A common sandstorm would darken the skies and lower visibility like a rainstorm, but tint everything a light brown hue. A severe sandstorm would darken the skies further like a thunderstorm,and reduce visibility more thn a common sandstorm would. It would also tint everything with a dark brown hue, and have lightning. sand would accumulate and fall similar to a snowstorm in both storms, with severe storms causing more sand accumulation than common sand storms.

    Weather is such an over looked thing in Minecraft, I would love this addition, I feel like is you got to close it would fling you like 20 blocks away

    This could fill the awkward empty space of when it rains because if you noticed it doesn't rain in the desert instead it there could be sand storms

    Maybe the severe sandstorms could slowly damage the player as well as the sand claws at their skin. I also think it would be cool if there could be a new sound effect to accompany this; wind, sandy wind, and icy wind. the sandy wind sound effect happens when you are in a sand storm. It sounds like the normal wind but with sand blowing along with it. The wind sound effect happens occasionally in most warm biomes like plains, deserts(when there's no sandstorm), and forests. The icy wind sound effect happens in cold biomes. it could be a more high pitched sound and have a slight icy noise behind it. All these noises would have a muffled sound if you are in a shelter of somesort.

    Maybe to prevent suffocating in the storm, the player could apply something like a bandana. Or there could be an enchantment for the Helmet for that instead.

    I like this idea, but it would be annoying if you built a base in a desert to find it covered in sand.  i think if they added sand layers like they did for snow, and made it so only they could move that would be much better.

    It would be cool if players received slow damage from being exposed during a sandstorm. Also I think there are some cool possibilities here with vultures being added, maybe after a sandstorm when you are weakened and the low visibility effect is wearing off butler spawns go up for a bit

    Adds a new danger to the deserts which are pretty peaceful during the day. Love this idea!

    minor damage could take place, extensive visual impairments for gameplay, and perhaps even a new flying mob---phantom variant? Mirage? Spawns only during a sandstorm, and attacks just like a phantom. Perhaps a little more health. If that were the case, probably not much husk spawning. But both would be cool.

    Got my vote. The desert needs weather like that, and what better than in 1.20? Camels, palm trees, oasis-s, would be perfect!

    Maybe sand randomly becomes falling blocks and gets yeeted around? but to be safe, it can't happen near any man made blocks (or villages)

    I think that more severe sandstorms would have debuffs; they would deal damage, or suffocate you similarly to how you lose air bubbles in water.

    This is a good idea as there is nothing that helps the desert be unique and desirable other than things like villages and suspicious blocks. Please implement something like this to improve desserts, Mojang.

    I'm all for it as long as the sand accumulation is limited to a layer similar to snow (I'd be fine without any accumulation too)
