a lot of people in the comments think emerald armor and tools should be better than diamond because they're hard to find in caves, but it shouldn't be very good because you can easily find a village and get enough emeralds, this should be about as good as iron but with low durability, or high durability with low protection, it should maybe slightly lower villager trade prices.

Would make sense in the material system. But, should be higher tier because of rarity

I don't think this is that great of an idea being how rare emeralds are. Sure it would be good if emeralds were less rare but only good as you said the emerald weapons strength would be in the middle of wood and gold. The weapon strength of wood and gold are the exact same.

I do not think that this is a good idea for three reasons:

1: village and pillage made emeralds a very useful material that can be used to get diamonds

2: 1.16 added a new tier of weapon and we don’t need another

3: it’s nice to have some ores that aren’t for weapons and armour like lapis lazuli and Redstone and I hope we get more of this in a cave update

I don't think this adds a lot of value (besides cool looking armor and gear I guess) and emeralds are pretty easy to get. You can turn crops, fish, stone, paper, etc etc into emeralds. By the same method you can turn emeralds into enchanted iron and eventually diamond gear so it's hard to know where its correct placement would be in terms of its tier.

    It would look cool tho

Rather than having thier own armor; I feel that emeralds, gold, even redstone, lapis, diamonds etc should be able to be "etched" onto armor providing a unique buff.

Armors made with more pliable materials (leather, iron, gold) should be able to accept more buffs or a higher tiered effect.  So a golden armor could be etched with all the above or have a higher effect of one.

for example: Emeralds etched into armor could provide the "looting" effect. (maybe for farming? or possibly better trades in general?)

This would be separate / stack with enchantments.   The trade off being lower tiered armors provide less base protection but by adding some etching it can be useful still.  IE farming,

I say it should be in between Diamond and Netherite

I also think more armour and tools would be good for minecraft. But not emerald tools and armour, emeralds are meant to be a currency and it would be totally unbalanced if you could make armour and tools with it since there are so many ways to exploit villagers.

Emeralds act as the currency of villagers, so this would be like making clothes out of bank notes. I think emeralds are best left how they are.

I have been waiting for this for a while, but it still hasn't been announced!

I think the Emerald equipments should go like this:

Lower tier than diamond, equal to iron, but with extremely high enchantability and have enchanting bonuses (like less xp requirements, consumption and lower lapis cost) as well as repairing bonus (less xp cost, high benefits from mending)

    probably in-between diamond and netherite

No way. Emeralds are the currency of villagers and making them into armor defeats the purpose of them. They are for villager trading only. Emeralds are also super common and really easy to get, via villager trading.

Also, the armor would look terrible.

Make armor, weapons and tools "rare" to get. Like how Emeralds are harder to find.

Maybe, if copper is the start of a new tier-set of tools, emerald could be the diamond equivalent for it? Of course, that relies upon what I've hear about copper tools/weapons/armor not just being rumors and misinterpretation of information. But it would be cool.

I disagree since theres already lots of armor and i also think emeralds are their own thing, not another set of combat materials. Maybe they could be used for something else though, like wands and staffs or something.

I would disagree. I think emeralds don't need armor and weapons, but perhaps other uses. Similar to how amethyst will be used in the 1.17 update. Something like some sort of redstone thing maybe.

I feel like Emerald if you are mining is harder to find then Diamond so I think that they should add emerald armor  and add another currency like actual money blocks that you have to smelt to make money so that you can trade with villagers... I feel like if they add Emerald Armor they should make it better because I fell like it is harder to find...

I'm not certain if it would be the best idea, but if it is added I agree that it would be interesting if it affected Villager trading. When going to a market your clothing can often affect how the venders will react to you. Wearing emerald armor could decrease or increase the price of things, although I would only do the latter if it is a higher-tier set of armor.

Hey! I'm making a texture pack right now that replaces diamonds with emeralds if anyone wants to download it once its done. It's not quite what you want but its the best I can do!

Ok, great idea. But with Netherite and Emeralds being so rare, let's give emeralds a higher chance.

I agree with this feedback because we all know how useful are emeralds, it can be used for healing, making weapons, magic staffs, armors and more. Please make this happen.

Emerald tools and weapons should be in the game because Who would want to trade something  that's even rarer than diamonds
