I think it would be cool if there was emerald weapons and armor. Its weapon strength should be in the middle of wood and gold. Its armor protection should be in the middle of leather and gold.

I'd say combine gold tools and armour with emerald blocks at the tool station to produce "Gemerald" tools and armour.
Its as fast as gold but as durable as iron.Piglins would also treat you as if you're wearing gold.
For those who say it should be more powerful: no, because the emerald is rare IN NATURE, but if you trade with the villagers you can get a lot of it. But if it would be useless ... I think more than anything else that the emerald would be in my idea of jewelry.
No. Just NO. Emeralds are special and unique, here's why:
- trading, with which you can get both enchantments and the second-highest tier of armour.
- powering beacons, as it is the only block that can power beacons that are not used for armour and tools. (giving it its own special use so you don't have to use up your gold, iron, diamonds or netherite)
- decoration, yes this does count as a use, hence the honeycomb block.
- not everything has to be an armour/tool it would add nothing to the game if added in the ways mods do it. It would add nothing to the gameplay.
- Emerald armours and tools are like a trademark of many mods, and degrade from creativity much like verticle slabs. If they were to add this without a unique look (NOT just green diamond armour) concept and niche and not add sharks or vertical slabs, it would simply be an abomination.
If it were added, it should be added that you can use the smithing table to add emeralds to iron tools to upgrade them or copper to iron tools to upgrade them. Emerald's buff could be a buff to enchantability or a buff to trading.
If tools were added, they would have to be niche, such as working as if they already had silk-touch, however, copper or bronze would fill this role better.
Honestly, I can hardly see why this is even under review. If I could, I would downvote this. Twice.
Just to make this clear, the developers added emeralds intending that it would be used as a currency in Minecraft. Why diamond and iron have amour purposes and are not a currency? Because emeralds are the main currency. Also, it would be pretty much useless overall, the developers already added Netherite so I don't think we need to add another armor on top of that.
I think that this would add nothing too the game. Emeralds are for villager trading and for making beacons. Because emeralds are so easy to get, you could easily get hundreds of sets of gear. If emerald gear is added then at least make it similar to leather in durability and protection. However, someone did say that emerald armour could make villagers give you better deals which I think would be a nice addition to emerald gear if it is going to be in the game.
2 things... 1: minecraft devs have already announced that unless new gear adds something to the the gear list, they will not add it. ex: netherite, which added a whole new level of gear. this sounds like your just mixing and matching normal armor. 2: i think that there should be more uses to emeralds, but tools and armor is not the way to go
Honestly i don't think this is a good idea because emeralds are so easy to get, so the armor would probably not be very good. Maybe it can give you some kind of benefits like better villager trades or some kind of unique effect. I honestly can't see this being as cool as we used to imagine it would be
Maybe emerald armor could be something that you can only get from trading. That would combat the fact that emeralds are so easy to get. But i still think emerald gear would not be that cool. I don't see where it would fit in the hierarchy of tools and armor. To me it doesn't fit anywhere
