    I like that idea. You see, it makes no sense for the build limit to be 320 blocks. 1 block=1m/3ft and the tallest mountains go to y: 265 (1.18.2) could and the ocean is at y:64 so it would seem more like a hill. Maybe you take damage after 55-85 seconds up at y:700-1200. If you wear iron or gold armor, it would extend to 100-150 seconds. Netherite would be 250-450 seconds and a new enchantment could be added: Space Protection I,II,III,IV could all be added to a maximum of 1000-1100 seconds. (This could be added as 1.19 or 1.20)

    also there could be "air chunks" with no blocks and they will load, when player places a block in them

    I wish there would be an update to release the height limit up to 1000 blocks above ground, as there are a lot of awesome and spectacular skyscrapers that I want to replicate in the minecraft, and I also wish there is an update in the future that with additional variants of rock and tiles that can be used for decoration of buildings and houses.

    They should just make the Cubic Chunks mod. it would remove the need to adjust the build height.

    I think mountains should generate up to 300 to 350 blocks, and there should be a biome in between the stony peaks and the jagged or frozen peaks, where it snows, but only above a Y level of 240 to have a better temperature gradient when it comes to mountains.

    This discussion has been going on for so many years, and the height limit and terrain generation still haven't changed at all. Let's not even talk about performance issues; as long as there's a clever method and good code, there won't be any performance problems. Please, official team, put this matter on the agenda.

    Me likes how you thinks!

    Mountains in Minecraft are rather weak if you ask me. They should be increased in height, & the height limit should be increased to maybe about five-hundred to four-hundred for structures that addons present spawning upon these mountains. It would put a kink in things if they simply could not generate.
