I'm seeing al lot of people talking about negative y levels, while logically for depth purposes it seems fine, programming wise that's a different story, (reminder f3 is a debug menu).

If they could increase the wourld height to 512 or 1024 with the sea level increased this would fit the new update soo well.

If the height limit was increased, technically the Nether would too. Special new biomes could be implemented like ones being only located at the highest parts of the Nether! How cool would that be?

This would also allow caves to be far deeper. Which means iron amd dimonds could spawn lower down making them a harder resource to gather also the further you go down the more structures and biomes you could find. this is already a thing becuase of the new deep dark.

I know increasing the height limit from 256 blocks to another bigger value also increases the overall data that needs to be stored (and loaded for that matter) per chunk, however, I do think that it should be at least 400 blocks as it stops me from building huge skyscrapers or other really amazing builds.

Maybe bedrock might not be able to handle 512 but you could still raise the height limit on Java to 512 and then raise it on bedrock to 384

Well it would be pretty nice to have a higher height limit

The nether is perfectly fine at the height it is.

We can now adjust the block limit! Now just need to hope for a higher block limit as the default.

I think that both versions should have the same height limit, otherwise there would be a huge advantage in one version. The developers are actually starting to implement it on the Java Edition, since they lowered the void from -1 and below to -64 and below and allowed players to control build height using custom worlds in the snapshots, according to the Minecraft Wiki. I'm sure the challenge would be trying to implement a new height limit that all operating Bedrock devices could handle; they already set up the performance limit and gave up on some devices including Gear VR, so they are working towards that. I'm sure that if this manages to get implemented, the height limit would be increased to 384, and the lowering they've done to the void also suggests that they are going decrease the level of bedrock (the block) in order to give more space to the underground. I'm sure the undergound would severely need that with the new cave generation and biomes coming up, so that's why the new height limit might be necessary, as well as raising up mountains.

Remember that the developers are much more focused on parity than before. If they implement such a major feature on one version, they most likely have a plan to implement it on the other version.

Although it is a bit of a hack, this is possible with structure blocks. nevertheless, I would love to see this in the game.

[IMPORTANT!] Actually the build height should be customizable for all single-player worlds. if the player leaves it blank, it should be 512 blocks by default.

I would really like to see the height limit in Minecraft be 512 or even more. You may not believe it but I am currently building a skyscraper in Minecraft survival and it is 170 meters tall and is two towers. Each tower is 91 blocks long and 45 blocks wide. On Saturday I just finished up terraforming the right tower with my friend. I am also going to put full interior on it but it will not be finished for a long time but I am hoping I can get it done by august. If we can get 512 build limit or more, that will mean I could build even higher. Although I would assume the tallest I could make on a regular world would be 443 meters tall or 1453 ft which would be pretty high. So I am really hoping that they can increase the limit to 512 or higher so I can but even higher, which you wouldn't think I would be doing in survival, but I would still do it because I would really like to be able to make a skyscraper as high as possible in my survival world. So Mojang really should increase the limit to atleast 512. Also I cant believe that cant even build anything above 1000 ft.

I think the max height should be increased to 512. And the Minimum should be -256. The reason we should have this is so that anything under Y level 0 should be caves because then the rest of that 512 could be for building and also some hills and mountains above sea level and they could even make volcanos above Y level 0, I think it would be a great idea, but I do not know about performance though

Cubic Chunks would also help in making cave biomes by not having the chunk extend 256 blocks allowing biomes to be placed on top of each other and just in their desired chunk.

the reason everyone wants high build limit is to build massive skyscrapers, the generation doesnt need to use the height ok, i just want my massive buildings

Yes, the world limit in the overworld is finally increasing! And the new caves look amazing. Thank You Mojang! But the underground is now the same height as the Nether. I always wanted the Nether to increase the height limit, because it's an entire dimension, & it's kind of small. At least increasing it to 256 would make it 100x more phenomenal. The exploration & the building possibilities would blow. The Nether Update would explode even more as well. I'm not expecting it to happen in 1.17 because they've already done so much, but maybe in future. Either way, Thank you for increasing the Overworld Height Limit. (=

I would want a new type of world called "No Limit" or "Skylands" (for fun), there would be no height limit(vertically up not down.) or at least have 1436 height limit 1000 to build outside and 436 to gain resources from caves.

i would think that zero limit would be better i dont think it would bust performance as your generating smaller chunks but i see the issue in maybe storing worlds it might make them big. but even then i might be wrong unless your a nomad and move a lot then it might be an issue but i think it would make for shore more interesting things as for floating islands blocking out sun light i would say change the light mechanics as light could bend around them.

personally i would like cubic chuncks and no build limits. be better. plus a lot of room for new updates like additional layers li mean grimstone is coming but that can mean you can add more ores for but have like a type of teir system where ores like iron, gold, coal, diamonds, can be found in stone but you can have ores like titanium, lead, lithium, aluminum, and another layer that has stuff like Uranium, Platinum, Rhodium, maybe add some liquids like oil which can be used on other things. add some machines. maybe add goblin towns, dwarf citys or under ground villages. or sky cities.

in the update 21w06a we were introduced to having a possible 4096 blocks total for height, from -2048 to 2047, with that we need a better way for filing and viewing vertical chunks, where cubic chunks mod originally did that in earlier versions of minecraft, i think it is necessary to implement something similar to the newest version(or upcoming version) of minecraft, this would be a performance update

I hope to see this in minecraft sometime in the future

With the world generation, PLEASE, when you update the mountain biome to generate prettier and more realistically, make the rest of the world gen better too!!

could have sky islands... taller mountains.....i just wanna be able to make a skybase.... so honestly i dont care if there is anything i just wanna be able to skyblock in a regular world with the opportunity to go down lol, honestly just the ablity to choose to raise the world eight when making a map would be cool

Make it so that bedrock has a flat world that goes down to -64 because I am currently trying to make the worlds largest netherite beacon on a normal world (in caves and cliffs experimental of course) and the excavation that I have to do will be impossible because I can’t do the /fill command (too many blocks)

Yes, I hope the official can really increase the height. At the same time, the peaks should be higher and larger, and the caves should be deeper and larger. The old version of the peaks should be removed to improve the player's immersion in this world.
