This would be an incredible addition! Even if they only gain a few more hit points or just heal a tiny bit faster for each level, this would make it much harder to lose a nearly max level villager ...

Perhaps there could be ash cloud sandstorms in the Basalt deltas. These would obscure vision and perhaps increase spawn rates for certain mobs, such as Magma Cubes.
