I think it is obvious the sniffer uses the same colors as the Sift. It should dig up flowers or plants related to the Sift. It should be able to dig these up in the Overworld.

Why not just make it based on the current dimension. So if the sniffer is in the sift, it can only dig from sift grass, and will have an updated loot pool.

The suggestion for the compass to actually work is completely different from the sulfur cube being tamable. But I like the taming idea. Another fun idea is you could tame it with amethyst.
