(Java Parity) Add Subtitles

You know how there's subtitles in Java Edition, in accessibility settings? That doesn't exist in Bedrock Edition. Those should be in Bedrock edition too. I hope Mojang adds this.

    i heavily rely on it on Java bc I have issues with sound direction. I struggle a lot on my friends Bedrock SMP now as a result  :(

    We need this parity for many reasons.One,if players want to play with low or no volume at at all,this should be a feature for bedrock edition as well.

    I need this as I have really bad auditory processing issues so sometimes I just cannot understand any sounds this game makes.

    i'm a java-only player but this is mindboggling to me. the fact that mojang is apparently totally silent on the issue too - i've been unable to find statements of any kind. nothing that even says 'we're workin on it but struggling because of X issue, or Y platform'. just utterly leaving disabled bedrock players in the dark on this. it's 2023, and if i were at mojang i'd be embarrassed by this.

    It is November 2023 and there has been ZERO communication from Microsoft on adding subtitles/CC to bedrock? This isn’t a “we would really love this feature” it is “there is a whole group of people who NEED this due to varying accessibility issues” (and many more people who would generally benefit from it existing.)

    I understand Java and Bedrock are fundamentally different in function/code but subtitles/CC is a BASIC function! If low budget TV Shows/Movies/Internet Media can do it… why can’t Microsoft (especially when it is existing on Java?)??? It’s infuriating and a spit in the face to millions with a common disability/condition.

    What’s the deal Microsoft??

    Yes! Here from 2024, I’m very upset this still hasn’t been implemented or even spoken on. Like others before me have said, this is a huge accessibility issue- the most basic, even. How is there text-to-speech for chat, ways to make text and buttons larger, ways to change chat font and color to be more readable, ways to change background opacity of certain UI features, yet.. no subtitles?

    Unbelievable this game still doesn't have subtitles. This needs to be a much higher priority for the development team, not random new mobs like armadillos.

    Please PLEASE add subtitles to Switch/Bedrock. I miss out on so much and I wish we could have the same accessibility features as Java. :(

    why has this not been taken care of already? It's clearly an issue, and singles out disabled people specifically. I'm very disappointed Mojang clearly has no interest or urgency in fixing this obvious issue. It's significantly lowered my interest in supporting them as a business.

    This is a massive issue for accessibility, and for player experience and general parity. As a long time Java user who has recently started playing bedrock for other accessibility features (controller support being the biggest one) I am really disheartened to discover that the CRITICAL feature of subtitles doesn't exist in Bedrock. I'm honestly shocked, and pretty disappointed. I love this game, and want to be able to enjoy it with my friends, but without subtitles, I (and MANY others) am unable to do so. This should be top priority.

    The fact that this hasn't been added to Bedrock yet is a travesty. You say you care about you customers/player base yet you continue to leave accessibility out of your game.

    I have trouble with auditory processing and it's even more difficult when there's a delay between executing an action and the sound that it's supposed to make.
    I've had creepers spawn in my houses before because I couldn't hear monsters in a cavern underneath.

    What the heck! Microsoft? I thought your goal was to enable gamers of all abilities to be able to play? This is a huge oversight as Deaf players are having a limited experience!

    Close to 5 years since this was created and not a single remark regarding a common accessibility issue. What's worse is I have deaf students and MC:E is built on Bedrock. Honestly shameful.

    As a deaf user:

    The fact this STILL hasn't been so much as announced is bizarre, I thought that that Minecraft cared about "accessibility", especially on the most-used version of the game. 

    Please do better, I just want to be able to actually play this game with my kid.
