I quite like the gold idea. Combining copper with a gold tool to give a 'bronze' tool that behaves like a gold tool but with a durability only slightly lower than iron.

I feel like copper has more of a place in more Redstone recipes, would be nice to have a few more tricks in the Redstone shulkerbox tbh.

I think it would be good for upgrading gold tool to rose gold

This is a cool idea and adds more uses for the Smithing Table. Unfortunately, I feel like this might not happen unless the tools and armor have a special property, and aren't just a base set, like iron or diamond. The devs said they want new armors and tools to be more unique, like the turtle shell helmet.

I believe that this was on an Ask Mojang episode:

No it is not. Several people have said this, but, factually speaking, bronze is stronger than iron. The reason for the bronze age turning into the iron age was not because iron was stronger, but because bronze was harder to make and the tin trade collapsed. Bronze is weaker than steel, not iron.

i would love for the smithing table to be able to turn your tools and armour and stuff into something other than just netherite
