Maybe a separate drop-down menu for mods appears in the launcher when "Modded" is checked, with an additional selector to select the api first (e.g. Fabric, Forged, or potentially Minecraft's own mod api); and then every mod from some world-recognized websites like CurseForge or maybe Minecraft's own new mod site - the possibilities are really endless.

Two things that make Modded Minecraft so niche is that

    • You need to separately install Forge / Fabric
    • You need to download your mods to the appropriate folders by yourself
    • Separate installations are a chore to figure out

    Potential solutions are

    • Integrate Forge / Fabric into the Minecraft Launcher
    • Have a separate drop-down menu for mods within "Installations"
    • Let separate installations have separate "mods" folders

we dont want it to become the marketplace though, it basically needs to be curseforge but owned by mojang

I really like this concept, and I think that the community would love this. However, mods are already really easy to install, unless you are like a 6 year old who doesn't understand the basics of file working. But if Minecraft had an official mod loader (like Fabric) with something like Fabric API but Mojang Style already loaded into it, it would be really convenient for us all. But like I said, I love this idea, you just need to elaborate a bit more.

If you want in-game mods and mod developing, just go to the Marketplace. They have plenty of moss and behavior packs.

I don't think Mojang will do this but I want it anyway.

I think you mean that they implement Forge/Fabric in the launcher and we can access an official mod library. right?

I'd be in for a mod making section of the game. Maybe with some visual scripting going on, that'd be neat

A couple of 3rd party launchers actually have something like that.

They should make it able to be sort by the biggest mod loaders created by the community as of writing, Forge and Fabric. They can also choose to make their own mod loader.

Minecraft wouldn't implement this feature because they have a marketplace

Just use modrinth launcher app + plus quilt for now (also a ingame mod downloader will  enventuly stop being used due to inefieceinceis so people will just go back to useing quilt and modrinth)

Somewhere in the corner or somewhere, a button will be there to add mods to, the game without forge

the same with bedrock edition, but you can have java mods as well

click on the button and a list will pop up. If it is empty, it means you have no mads installed

you will need to sign it to get it

there will be some pre-made mods in there

you can also install them from your files

I think that a mod panel would be a good idea so you dont have to risk viruses!

Once you add mods, people will be less likely to buy from the marketplace, which means Microsoft won't make as much money from DLC. And we all know that they love their DLC money.

Mojang could also endorse well made mods and maybe give prices to well made mods. Also, they could perhaps collaborate with fabric and forge or a third party launcher to have a semi official mod experience.
