Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Concrete and Terracotta having Slabs, Stairs, and Walls

I really don’t like how you can’t craft concrete slabs and stairs. That basically means that we don’t have ANY colorful slabs and stairs. I really wish Mojang will add this because that would allow people to be more creative with what they build.

Edit: As you guys have mentioned in the comments, terracotta could use it as well.

Edit 2: They could also use walls, that could expand build options even more, and when it comes to build options, the more the merrier.

    I play with a mod that adds this, and i gotta day is an absolute must have for building. I really don’t know why this isn’t in the game yet and it should seriously be added!

    This needs to be a thing, for concrete at least. Colored blocks have absolutely no slab/stair/wall variants currently, and they would be great to have in the game.

    Yea I agree I like to download maps and edit them to my likeing and most of them use stone brick stairs and I really want to replace them with concrete but then I relize THERE IS NO CONCRETE STAIRS/SLABS and I think to myself ok this is BS it is one of the most used blocks in building I have no idea why Mojang did not add this yet so I have to deal with these ugly stone brick stairs

    I think with the stone cutter block this should become a reality within the game. We could do so many cute builds such as animal head houses. For example two upside down pink stairs back to back would make a super cute cat like nose. ^_^ Plus be able to add exquisite detials to regular homes.

    I would love it if all building blocks had slab, stair, log and wall variants! The possibilites for landscaping, building and detailing would be endless and amazing!! Even dirt would be very valuable in alternating shapes but especially trees if we had log variants!! Also stain for planks and brick would save you the trouble of having to create a million more variants!! The moremod and Expansion plus have done very good jobs incorporating some of thes ideas! Thank you!!

    What about carpet stairs. You craft stairs then you craft stairs with a carpet and viola, you have carpet stairs. On the side view of stairs, you can see wood and a thin carpet on the walking part of the stairs.

    I think we'll need a Concrete mixer for adding the concrete walls, stairs and slabs variants.
    This can be an new job site for a new profession: the architect.

    The block use idea have two variants:

    • For mass production of concrete, AND for creation of concrete walls, slabs and stairs.
    • For mass production of concrete powder, molding it to concrete powder walls, slabs and stairs, that can be hardened with water.

    The first one is more simplest.

    The concrete mixer would be crafted in wood slabs, similar to the composer, but less expensive: Five (5) wood slabs, putting them like the boat crafting.
    The block appearance is like an open box, similarly to composer, but less tall and in other texture, of course.

    Adding it will be great for building: allowing colored stairs, slabs and walls we have new ways to build. But it can be released at steps: one update add the concrete mixer and the ability of craft concrete. In another update can add the concrete slabs, stairs and walls variants.

    Particularly I do not insist on having terracotta slabs, walls and stairs, just because it can be used to create sculptures (It's just another idea).

    I live in a mesa right now, i would absolutely kill for terracotta stairs because right now i have to make stairs that don't match my enviroment

    This is good because I make concrete roads out of black, yellow, and white colored concrete. I've had to use nether brick/dark oak slabs for the black concrete, sandstone slabs for yellow, and quartz for white. It looks ugly like this, so i vote that concrete/terracota stairs, slabs, and walls should be added.

    It would be also nice to have an ability to mix slabs so you can have half of block for example wood and half stone.

    Colored slabs would also mean being able to use it for redstone "lines", as half slabs are very useful for moving signals up and creating one way connections, not to mention not powering things beneath them.

    This would be a great addition to the game, that builds upon the crucial building capabilities we were given in the World of Color and the Village and Pillage updates! Please add this in as soon as possible, as it would dramatically increase our building options in a way that already makes sense for Minecraft!

    This is by far the most needed thing in minecraft. The possibilities with concrete slabs and stairs is endless. The new colors would be great for couches, carpeted looking stairs, modern tables and loads more. I really hope this becomes a thing.

    I fully agree this is a must. I love to do modern builds and recently have slacked off because of the lack of options. Everything in the game now has become stale. Concrete and terracotta slabs would be refreshingly cool. Also, how about some new light blocks? The lantern was a nice idea, but light SLABS for the existing light blocks as well as maybe making light sources similar in color to glass blocks with opacity of sea lanterns. I've seen this kind of request in the past and yet here we are almost to 1.16 with nothing really new.

    I agree with this topic. The other day I was working on an evil, fiery-themed castle and I tried to build statues outside in the courtyard. Being a dark sort of build, I wanted the statues to be black, but there are no stairs that I could have used with any black blocks.

    the concrete block is a whole 1x1 block, which is pretty thicc but to be able to put the concrete into the stone cutter you could make concrete walls, for builds like modern houses you could make a room larger by changing the concrete block into a wall block, the wall would also keep it's solid all-around look so you don't see the creases as you do on the other wall blocks

    Mojang should really add new slabs/stairs variants since we are pretty limited with the current slabs. It would give a lot of colors for us to work with!

    That would add a lot of blocks at once though. There are lots of terracota and concrete blocks, and adding slabs and stairs to each of them would be a lot of blocks.

    I’ve been waiting since concrete came out for stairs ... And now you mention it, terracotta as well ...

    It annoys me that even with this new nether update, the new blocks are getting stair variants (ie. Blackstone) and some of the most used blocks have still been left behind ...

    We only have to see such content as Hermitcraft where half of the hermits are hampered by the inability to use stairs and yet build with concrete almost exclusively ...

    I personally have a lot of my current survival builds, built with stairs in mind (ie. Built one block backward so as to place them in the future)

    Also for stone we have the square which is 4 quarters (whole block), 3 quarters (stair), 2 quarters (slab) and are missing one quarter, this would be useful to add as cornice in builds and as posts etc, imagine a colored concrete wall, white ceiling and then able to add the white for cornices. Also could use as posts for a patio (different to the fence as they automatically join to things and are centered, these shouldnt join and be in one of the quarters.
