But how would the lava just come out if that's not how minecraft works? It's impossible for blocks or scource blocks to rise without any scource of powered connections unless there was some animation of lava rising from the volcano. And wouldn't that look really wierd?

i dont see how cooled lava block would be different from obsidian or blackstone

I would think that they would make the trees around it grey and with no leaves. I wouldn't go with the village Idea on the mountain, but would say that if a village was in that biome, that is what they look like. Plus IRL Volcanoes don't really erupt often, but if they do many don't do a whole lot, maybe they could add a couple TNT explosions that won't damage the volcano but deal damage, as well as a lava slide like you said before.

The cooled lava is the same thing as obsidian so if you mine the cooled lava you should get obsidian shards also cooled lava should be like top snow

If I'm honest, I never thought that I would Comment anything on this website and I would just vote, but this day I came up with creating this post for a somewhat strange idea that occurred to me a while ago.

    Volcanic Islands.

Thanks to the Nether Update, this idea came to mind and it was that in the middle of the oceans there is the possibility of finding an island made of Black Rock and Basalt and obvious Lava.

That would give it a unique touch, having a volcano made of Black Rock and Basalt that expels lava.

And we can even be more creative and that whenever there is an island of these, there will always be a probability of 90% to 100% that there is an unfinished Nether Portal there to make more sense of the biome and how the Nether could have influence on it. .

I hope you liked this idea and although I know it would be unlikely that anyone from Mojang would see it, at least I am happy that someone in the community took the time to read it.

    Thanks for reading this comment.

This biome would also be a great place to introduce some black stone into the overworld.

yes! also, I suggest that there should be really really rare eruptions that create fire rain in which you would burn

Awesome idea. Maybe the volcano when it erupts will make all the villagers panic and run in their house.

I find the volcano that would fit well into the Nether, which is now unfortunately too late for the Nether Update, where it went well with it. Another region where a volcano would fit would be a small biome before or after the mountains. The idea itself is extremely good and I would find rhis extremely cool.

How about a dimension instead of a biome?

its practically the basalt delta nether biome, but i still think its a great idea

All right this is cool but let's not forget how much work this would take

I think that having different sizes of biome and crates/mountains and so on would be much cooler. So you can encounter a small volcano which in fact would feel a little more special since it is less visible.

I would love to see this, and maybe even have a ring around the base of the volcano where the biome grows tropical trees and is luscious from the ash.

I like the general idea of a mountain generating as a volcano. Idk if I'm all for all of the specifics, but a random and rare volcano would be a cool thing to find. Like the idea of basalt formations and another commenters idea of black sand.

I wouldn't think this is a good idea for most low end and mid end devices like phone
It takes a lot to code and for gpu rendering

I think we should have natural disasters. To make it more realistic, and to give us a reason to build protective bases if there were a volcano, tornado, hurricane, tsunami, or something. This idea would need work, because we don't want our builds to be destroyed, but I think volcanos would be a fun experience.

    Hey,

I came here specifically to suggest something like this! I have to give credit to a very loyal member of your community-- a Youtuber named Ibxtoycat. I only know about this site existing because In watched something of his.

So what would a volcano biome look like to me?

I believe that if volcano became a biome, it should be on the more rare side of the spectrum.

    Cool gameplay changes:

    • Bits of obsidian could be found on the surface
    • Wilted bushes would have another home, haha
    • Sometimes, the areas could have petrified trees
    • Creepy destroyed villages/temples reminiscent of Pompeii
    • Volcanic gasses choke creatures out that get too close
    • Hot springs. They could either heal you or even be a specific item when taken with the bucket. No idea what for though.

I also have to say at this point that if you go with this biome, you might as well just go all the way. Not saying make it gigantic, but I think there are too many possibilities here not to explore.
Much in the same way as forests have mountain forest, flower forest and tiaga (& giant tiaga) forest styles, this has just as many potentials. So much so in fact that you might as well include it in a cave update pack. Call it the "Subterranea Update," and put everything minerals involved in it.

Here are my proposed volcano biome subtypes. -

    • Volcano_inactive
    • Volcano_active
    • Volcano_errupted
    • Volcano_plains & volcano_hills would be biomes surrounding the direct area. Changes depending on volcano.
    • Volcano_island
    • Volcano_underwater

    Thank you!

How about this, we could have a big host volcano as a structure and some smaller volcanoes spread out throughout the biome, having magma caves underneath, it would be made up of blackstone and basalt, also having pumice, magma blocks and volcanic/black sand. More things that can be found there are obsidian, ores like gilded blackstone, a new one like topaz, being tiered between diamond and iron, i also liked the idea of villages around it, but would like them to be 1/10 of a chance and another 1/10 of it being ruined by a previous eruption, similar to Pompeii.

Now since i have mentioned a couple new blocks, structures, etc, lets jump to those, shall we?
So pumice could be the first rocky block to be breakable by hand and also dropping itself, having bricks of this type, that would be equally fragile can add something to adventure maps aswell, also lets not forget to mention the ability to create moon-like worlds with pumice.
Now black sand will be used in making Witherstone, which will be a black sandstone variant, structures of which will be those ruined villages
Topaz will be an ore, tiered between iron and diamond, having its own toolset aswell. The special thing however, will be that you can craft more durable versions of bows and crossbows.
The villages around it will be either made of illagers or villagers, its structures being mainly spruce wood with blackstone, while the ruined villages will be made mainly of different types of Witherstone (normal, smooth, chiseled)

As a continuation of my other comment, since there is a limit, here's my remaining ideas

So to add to the villages, its loot will consist of the usual village loot, however with iron gear being replaced with topaz gear. Another thing for ruined villages, would be that it has a shrine with an incompleted wither summon. The Witherstone will be immune to wither explosions btw.
The volcanoes have already been mostly described in my other comment, but to add something, it will have a chance of random explosions at the tip, which will also send black sand and lava flying and when the lava settles, it will produce magma blocks. The host volcano will be the biggest at 200 blocks in height, while the others will be around 120 blocks in height.
The magma chambers below the volcanoes will either be partially filled, completely filled or not filled at all. The magma chambers will add something to a future cave update aswell. They will be consisting of blackstone, rarely netherrack, cobblestone, glowstone and magma blocks, they also will have a 1/50 chance of spawning with a magma cube spawner.

So that was part 2 of my ideas, make sure to read my other comment about my ideas.

Mojang already has three blocks I can think of that’s has to do with volcanos or the earth. Basalt, black stone, and magma blocks so why isn’t this biome announced.

Maybe we could have them in both the nether and the over world maybe we could have them explode every like 20 - 200 days

Would be perfect for the caves and cliffs update, maybe they could replace lava pools or have them with lava flowing down the volcano into them.
