I purchased Minecraft ten years ago when it was in Alpha, before multiplayer, before I even had kids. I remember when friends would share our saved game world, and trade off loading it up, then handing it off to another player, so we could all sorta 'play together.'

Now I have two boys who love Minecraft, but play via tablet devices (the Bedrock edition) and it kills us that we cannot all play together on a server. I use a mac for web development and design, so I have always only had the Java edition myself. I would love to be able to fire up a realm or server and play together with my boys.

Please consider releasing Bedrock for mac, or building a way that both Java and Bedrock versions can play multiplayer together. Thanks!

If there is an Education Edition on Mac, it means that the bedrock engine definitely runnable on Mac, so why not do so? It should just be a few line of code away, so please make it happen.

I have to run Windows 10 in a VMware Fusion virtual machine to run Bedrock so I can play with my partner on their iPad. It's kinda sad, but works. So a native MacOS version would be pretty great, even if I have to pay for it again! Now that Xbox One controller is easily paired with macOS Catalina, this could be a way for Microsoft to sell more controllers!.... but even better if it supports MFI controllers like the SteelSeries.

please, YES! If Microsoft loves Linux and Open Source, prove it by releasing your games on Linux! (and MacOS because why not)

This should now be a priority! Apple has made it very easy to port iPad apps to macOS with little code level changes. Microsoft, Minecraft, and Mojang can start by porting over the Minecraft for iPad app to macOS. Once it has been out for a while, they can look into the specific bugs that show up.

Please make Minecraft bedrock available on Mac, it would help the community and Mac users out quite a lot and it could easily be on the Mac app store !!

My windows installation broke, and I'm using Linux now. The only thing I miss about Windows 10 is bedrock Minecraft. It would be amazing to see it come to Linux operating systems. Porting bedrock to Mac OS and Linux would open up a huge audience to the game.

I bought the Mac version of minecraft as obviously for a bigger screen but also because I thought I could play with my sibling , they play on iPad but I was very disappointed to find out that you can't cross platform so I totally agree with this 100%

So from my research, Apple has released a feature where you can put your iPad apps on Mac. This is called project Catalyst and I was thinking why not put bedrock edition on mac.

At WWDC we got macOS 11 that can run iOS apps and games natively so if you have Minecraft for iOS then you will be able to play it on a Mac but only with the new Macs

Hello, I know a lot about software and I have a good feeling that the reason bedrock has not yet come to the mac is because macOS is built a top Linux and Windows 10 is not. Mojang has not been able to port Minecraft bedrock on linux just yet. There is some hope though, the pocket edition of Minecraft on the iPhone is bedrock and is able to run on iOS, as macOS continues to be more and more like iOS and iPadOS there should be reason to believe it possible especially with the macOS 11 Big Sur coming this October 2020. If Minecraft: Bedrock Edition does come to the mac then it will most likely be available for purchase in the app store, just like how Minecraft bedrock on Windows 10 is available in the Microsoft store for purchase. Java will always be available on the web for all computer operating systems, but as time moves on we will slowly move away from Java Edition and only have one universal Minecraft for all consoles, computer, and mobile devices. Although you can't play Bedrock on Mac and Linux, there are still some options. For Mac users you can download the android emulator app called BlueStacks and purchase Minecraft or run Windows 10 in bootcamp if you have space on your disk. For Linux users you can start a Windows 10 virtualbox and purchase Minecraft.

If you don't like these options then you could always stick to Java Edition!

Yeah I have no idea why people are being so negative about this. I'm an avid PC user but when I'm on the go with my MacBook I don't want to have to reboot into Windows just to play Bedrock with some friends knowing that I can play Java with zero hitch. I know the userbase "isn't that big" but it would be an incredible QoL improvement for many players.

Would really love a bedrock edition for Mac because I play with my friends on a realm and I can't always play with the pocket edition on my phone. It's pretty hard to control with fingers on the screen.

With the announcement of Project Catalyst which provides numerous tools to allow iOS-built apps to be easily recompiled to run on macOS, I think this availability request is worth talking about again. Now's the perfect time to look into porting the Bedrock engine to macOS, which is becoming more and more like iOS, and iOS already supports the game. Additionally, after Apple transitions all their notebook and desktop products to their own Silicon chips, there will be no excuse for not having a port; those chips literally run iOS apps natively! If the concern is over Microsoft wanting exclusive ownership, well, that just doesn't make sense. There's a whole market out there asking for a macOS port, and with the tools mentioned above, a port should be far from difficult. Hell, there was a version available for Apple's TV for some time, but not macOS? The Education Edition is available for Mac and runs on the Bedrock engine, but the base game isn't available? It just doesn't make sense.

So this is kind of delayed but you could always use windows 10 bootcamp for mac, but that problem will also be fixed if you don't want to because apple stated that in Q3/Q4 of 2020 they will release an arm base mac. arm is the same cpu base used in apple phones and apple stated that you will be able to run all ios and iPadOS apps on there unless the dev agrees to pay a monthy fee to  keep there app of the app store. it doesn't look like mojang would opt out especially because the play store version of minecraft is available on chromebooks with keyboard and mouse support.

Bedrock should come to Mac OS, especially now because of Apple Silicon. I don't feel that it needs to come to Linux at the same time (Mac should be priority).
