Errr... you can. There are Amethyst blocks craftable with 4 shards. :/ (There's no polished version though)

What are you talking about? The number of colors depends on what dyes you put in the firework star.

RitzyCake7381 Not quite... they'd have similar but ultimately different uses (detector rails power when a minecart goes over them... while a Redstone Minecart would be itself a power source).

I feel like it's easier to do this just in the files instead... it's really not that hard. :/

Or, you could just not use a boat and walk across the water. It makes sense why it doesn't work, your boots can't touch water if you're in a boat.
