Lava in the Overworld may appear as ectoplasm in this dimension, so when items are destroyed in lava it appears as if ghost mobs are rising from the ectoplasm

Destroyed items in the Overworld appear in this Dimension as ghosts. Destroyed mobs in the Overworld may appear in this Dimension as items (possibly spawn eggs)

When air blocks are destroyed in this dimension they may create ghost blocks in the Overworld, which ghosts would be able to travel through

There may be Creeper-like creatures that have a name similar to Reapers. When they explode in this Dimension they send the blocks back to the Overworld. Basically, they can undo Creeper Explosions

Light may also be inverted in this dimension. Light in the Overworld is Dark in this Dimension. Making light in this Dimension creates darkness in this Dimension

I think the main way to get to this dimension is to fall into the void in the End, possibly using items from the End or ghosts, phantoms, and with the use of Elytra

Ghosts may drop ectoplasm which may be used for various things. There may not be a portal to this but a potion made with ectoplasm.
