Maybe the dogs could have different breeds and shapes instead of different skins, and each breed would have a different ability, like a howl to stun mobs, or a defense/attack boost to its owner, or...

Good idea, but won''t the moss block (also from the lush caves) look green no matter where it is?

Good idea, but maybe it should be done by dropping an anvil on the block instead of using a grindstone.

3. Make leather armor more useful

A good idea, but Mojang is already doing this, because if you wear leather armor you won't die in the new powdered snow block, and if you wear leather boots, you can't sink in it.

Maybe this could be set in the base game instead of a beta, and you can turn it on whenever you want?  This would be making getting into betas a lot easier.
