Dog fur options (was: Skins)

Dogs that have different fur. White fur, Brown fur and Black fur

    Yes, I was thinking just like when you tame an ocelot, it gets a random skin/ fur coat type. If the same thing happened for dogs that would be awesome

    the different "skins" should have unique skills. Like the brown wolf can find iron ore or the white wolf can randomly dig up items.

    I think it should be random like when you tame an ocelot but instead you get a random dog breed like a Chihuahua, German Shepard, or husky for example

    I'd like to see dog fur act more like the way tropical fish varieties work, but perhaps with fewer varieties. Base Color + Secondary Color + Pattern. Each biome where canines are found would have one to three possible varieties: white and light grey in snowy, dark grey, brown, and black in woods, and brown or yellow in desert and savanna, for example. Taming the canine keeps the base color, and randomly picks a secondary color and pattern.

    I like the suggestion of the wolves already having a predetermined fur color but and generalizing it to one area for certain colors like with the Llama. So in the higher and colder regions, they would be more white and grey with the occasional red, brown, or black color. Warmer forested areas would have more browns and reds with a few grey or black.  No pack has all of the same colors though so it'd be more realistic if a couple were different.

    if they add new dog fur they should add new cat fur and new rabbit fur. they could add taby cats or go for more of the bengal look. for dogs they could have a tri colour which is more black white and brown

    Yeah, Wolves skins should be biome based. I don't think they should turn into a random breed, because humanity took centuries to create the current dog breeds.

    There should be different dog breeds like husky, German shepherd,pitbull and other types.Im not saying that it should have all dog breeds in the world but it would have more dog breeds about 50 or less

    wolves could be tamed into dogs but the husky would just be an ice wolf

    I think this should be exactly like it is with cats. Wolves should have differing fur colors.

    I would love to have this feature. In my opinion, I'd want it similar to rabbits. In different biomes, warmer or colder, would have different colors. 

    In colder biomes and climates wolves would have black, white, or gray fur colorings and marks. In warmer climates they'd have more browns and reds. Altogether, I just want more dog/wolf varients, almost all the other animals have them. Why not wolves?

    I don’t think we need to give dogs multiple new models, I think just changing the skins of wolves up a bit to give them some variety in color is enough, just like with cats.

    Since cats already have a bunch of different skins, this seems perfectly reasonable! And I personally would love for more dog skins and fur types! Imagine them having different tail models too, so you could have things like a shiba inu's curly tail, or a more fluffy tail for something like a husky!

    Though I suppose it would make more sense for the dogs to have skins based on naturally occurring wolfdogs? Since the cats are stray cats now and dogs are still technically wolves!

    yeah adding onto what you said there should be brown black and white i think there should be simple colors of dogs and no popular modern day dog breeds but possibly some spots of color like white paws, white snout, brown spot on the dogs back, etc) brown and black dogs could be found in taigas, brown rarely spawning in the desert. white dogs in the snow. Each dog could have different advantages. White might be larger making it seem like they have a thicccccer coat, water breathing and be faster in water, black dogs could have fire and could resistance and be able to swim in lava (and you could possibly go into the lava if the dog was within 20 blocks and would also allow you to see farther while you are in the lava) brown dogs could have strength and 10-15 hearts health. every dog could have 4-8 hearts. as much as players want it, i dont think there should be many varieties of dogs because it would seem too much like the  doggy styles mod.

    I also suggested more wolf colors so of course I would vote for more dog colors! Honestly, why did ocelots get different skins when you tamed them while wolves still just look like wolves with collars when tamed. I hope something like this happens to the wolf/dog mob!
