Great idea and art, I like that idea of them folding up at night, but perhaps they emit a light level of 2? Maybe just finding them at night lightly glowing is kinda alluring to me.

Here's my problem with steel. It is too cheap to be much more powerful than Iron weapons. It just requires coal and iron. Not a big deal to get. It would make iron armor worthless.

Love the art, mobs, and other ideas, all of these are well thought out. Only suggestion is to add endermites to the area so as to give them more use? Or something like that.
