    The issue is the Bedrock Edition can't do that. That makes this a good suggestion, as having certain items in the off hand is a great idea like compasses, clocks, etc.

    Like an entity? You can set a custom name right when summoning it.And for giving yourself items? You can specify names there too. The idea of a /name command is pretty useless in my head.

    Alternatively, you can use Attributes, or have a command renew the duration. The max duration for the /effect command is one million seconds — that's over eleven and a half days.
