Let's talk about Camels!

Camels are coming to Minecraft in update 1.20 and are playable in snapshot and preview right now! This new mob is found in desert villages and can be ridden by not one, but TWO players at the same time. They can be pretty zippy too, so perfect for long treks across the overworld. 

Features

  • Added Camel base mob functionality 
  • Added two-seat rider functionality to Camel 
  • Add Dashing ability to Camel 
  • Camels randomly sit down for a short amount of time 
  • Camels can spawn in desert villages
  • Camel is a tall animal and the rider is high enough in the air that melee mobs can’t reach them

    Camels should spawn with wandering traders in the desert.

    The camel is a cool mob, but I think it needs to be more versatile. Adding the option to place a chest on instead an extra player would be helpful

    They're a bit too rare.

    I would prefer if they sometimes spawned in the wild because they would add more atmosphere to the empty deserts.

    I think it would be really beneficial if the camels somehow allowed villagers to ride in the seconds spot. I personally enjoy the recent changes making the OP villager trades more of a late game and long-term project. But if we transport villagers long distances, I believe there should be an official way to do that, not just manipulating their pathfinding like current players do. Its too unclear, gamey, and micromanaging imo for long distances. Boats are also really tedious for long distance over land. Ice highways are great, but are too time consuming for a 1 time trip like villagers would need. Camels currently don't seem to have much use outside of niche multiplayer uses and could afford more functionality. Its like they were made for this niche.

    I think it should spawn natually in the desert, not only on villages.

    i agree that they should spawn in more places than just villages but  maybye as a later thing i mean they just added camles to the game.

    It would be cool if there was a mob called the Traveller. The Traveller spawns in deserts and rides the Camel with trades that are better than most. Kinda similar to The Wandering Trader.

    Finally found a second camel and brought it back to my base to breed it with my other camel. Name tagged it, put it in a pen with the other one i had for FOREVER (also name tagged) and as soon as i left to get some cactus to breed it, it despawned! So disappointed! Thought maybe it had glitched out of the holding pen but no. Checked its origial spawning village that i found it it but no, its not there either. Took forever and a lot of mobs to get it through to get it home and gone in a second. Very very very disheartened. Make camels more available please. Even if they only respawn in desert villages but having a single respawn really sucks :(

    maybe camels can have chests equipped like a boat with a chest so moving items from one place to another is easier also maybe add more stuff thats travel friendly.
