Parity is something that's super important to our developers so everyone gets the same experience across Java and Bedrock. While this doesn't always happen simultaneously, major features that have been announced are in the works for both clients. Don't worry!

    Chat reporting is a bad idea! Servers have plugins to stop messages from players, rules. You don't need to add this bto java.

    This is not a good idea, please don't implement that. Most servers already have a good moderation.

    This chat reporting change is entirely unnecessary and can only bring harm to the game.

    I feel like you should add a option in the server-properties to enable and disable the moderation, then I would feel like this is a good idea but without a option to disable or enable it it really isn't a good idea.

    Legit not a single soul wants this garbage terrible feature implemented. Everything will collapse if you fall through with this, and at this point it all ends.

    Please do not add this feature. It was never asked for or needed. At least give an option to disable it or opt-out. Like in the server properties of any server. I pay for my server and I run and moderate my server and no one else should. I feel like this is also a huge privacy concern.

    Just scrap the player chat report please, or at least on 3rd party servers.

    I host a server for some friends myself and definitely don't need, nor want microsofts "help" with moderation. Certainly not permanent bans for something that is said in chat on THE SERVER I LITERALLY OWN. I paid for the hardware it runs on, pay for the electricity and set up everything myself, so no one should get to decide what can and cannot happen on there. I moderate it and if i am not okay with something a player does or says they will get a warning or a ban, that is not a decision I want some ai or employee at mojang/microsoft to make.
    It is just wrong for someone who has no context for what happens on the server to see a message and decide to ban the person, that is just going to result in false bans and many issues.

    Also this feature has the very real possibility of being abused by player groups to get specific people banned, which would also be very bad.

    Mojang, why would you do this? Minecraft was supposed to be a peaceful game where anybody could do anything they wanted! That's why the game's so popular! Limitless possibility and control over the world we had. With this chat ban, we players will have lost control over chat as well. Seriously, Mojang. If you want to see the game being successful, remove this feature. We are begging for it be removed.

    If you really care about your community you should know that even if microsoft said that you need to put chat report messages atleast the "high trained staff" should be really carefull and see the messages. BUT anarchy server like 2b2t that players spam words in chat that are not family friendly. The idea is bad and not be realised. By the way as I said if you really care about your community listen to your community and with the ideas that the community gives you should add it in an update or gain ideas for something similar.

    I don't know if you will read this Mojang studios or Microsoft but if you do please save it for the future. And I think I know what jeb will doto this "secret update" and the plan in all of this. I think I am not sure

    What even is the reason to add the feature of chat reporting?  We dealt with spammers easily by just installing a plugin but using your feature people can get falsely banned and they will.
    Chat reporting is not needed on java please don't add it.

    The chat report system was I'm sure put in good faith but history shows that it has never worked and there will always be people who have not done anything. The system should have a limited time period for being banned not permanantley banned. What is the point of us Java players paying money to own servers when we dont even get a say to who gets banned and if urselves get banned. It just doesn't make sense. Even if this was done in good faith the result will not be good. Hope that they rethink this decision. IF they do not it will be the fall of Minecraft.

    Please remove the chat report feature. Why should I be able to be permanentally banned from MY server just because i wrote something inaproparite on MY or a other server. I am paying MY SERVER why should I be able to get banned from it. I just want to have some fun on MY SERVER with my friends and dont't wont to be permanentally banned from MY SERVER that I am PAYING!!! I want to moderate MY SERVER by myself. I dont want to have that done for me. I want to write on MY SERVER with my friends whatever I WANT!!!!!!!!!!

    Please Mojang remove this feature, it is destroing the game!!!

    This type of change will make the Minecraft community smaller and Mojang & Mircosoft will gain hate. Its the best if the community is listened and the chat report feature isn't added. Mojang you can do better!

    This will cause big problems for microsoft im sure alot of greifers will abuse this function to mass report players and causing alot of false positives this should NOT exist in any minecraft version

    I think chatreporting is a really bad idea. It just ruins the game. This is the huge downfall of Minecraft.

    Remove chat reporting for java - let the community handle it, they already have
