Do not implement chat moderation, servers have been doing it themselves for over 10 years and it is not needed now. It will only lead to false bans for out-of-context messages.

Please, Minecraft, I understand that in some servers made for kids chat moderation could be a good idea, but it can destroy entire communities in some servers. Some chat messages are case sensitive, for example, in a faction war server, it would be completely normal to say "I'm going to kill you" in the chat, and people can now be banned for that.
The multiplayer community in java has been self moderated for more than 10 years, and there's been no problem with it.
Maybe, instead of forcing the chat moderation, you could give server admins the option to opt out of this feature. As a server admin myself, and one hosted in my own hardware, I do want to moderate the chat messages myself, and I do not want to play with the fear of being banned from my OWN server, hosted in my OWN hardware, because a bot at Microsoft thought I was being offensive to my friends.
Also, I think perma banning people from all multiplayer world's (public servers, private servers (even if people are paying for them) and even LAN world's is excessive.
Please, reconsider the way you're implementing this auto moderation, Minecraft. Untill that's done, I can firmly say that I'm not updating to 1.19 because I don't want to be banned from my own server.
    Thank you, Minecraft

When I think about it, I realize that it contradicts itself. It is highly abusable, can lead to bullying, etc. Who needs to do the actions to get banned when they can just falsely accuse him/her. I also dislike that every single message I send can be weaponized against me and the person who got banned have no say. Also, you are given no chances, which is very bad especially that you don't know why you are banned.
To Mojang and Microsoft, please remove the chat reporting feature or be able to disable. Also, before doing anything, you have to appease the community else Minecraft will suffer a downfall.
To the community: I suggest going on a Minecraft strike. Don't play the game until it is resolved. This will make Microsoft and Mojang think what had gone wrong. Popular YouTubers should also have their say.
I hope 1.19.2 changes for the better

Due to the chat reported im genuinely afraid that if i post my criticism here my entire minecraft account will be deleted and even more afraid to step into public servers any more for any reason under threat of an unwarranted ban by the highly trained moderators

Remove this feature now, its not your job to loderate servers. Those who run the servers pay for them and should have full control of what is bannable.

Java edition community-run servers have been able to moderate their own chat effectively for years. Why this change? Well known Minecrafters such as YouTubers will likely be mass false flagged, so would there have to be some sort of player whitelist from the ban feature? This feels like development time could be used elsewhere to more effectively keep the Minecraft community safe while online, such as more Admin/Moderator features.

you've seen the feedback from everyone, you have seen the negative impact this is giving, are you guys trying to kill Minecraft, trying to scam players, your gonna loose a major percentage of your player base by doing this we'll all move back to older versions and never touch your updates again, your gonna loose everything Mojang just use your brains and think about what is happening, listen to the players on bedrock, listen to the players on java, no one will touch your precious Minecraft legends

If you're going to go through with Chat Reporting, limit it to Realms please. You shouldn't take control of third-party servers, it's in the name.

My server, my rules. Microsoft has no right to enforce rules in a server I'm paying for, which they don't own. Sure fine for realms, but they don't own any servers, so they shouldn't enforce their rules in them. Banning playing singleplayer is disgousting and realms should be cancelled upon a permanent ban.

Please for the love of god remove this reporting feature this can be abused by many players to falsely ban server owners or server owners can easily make them say something so they can do the same false banning the player i have literally tested this myself and it works (i did not report anybody) so please this feature doesn't belong in Minecraft java edition remove it.

This reporting feature is as unnecessary as abuseable, unsafe and unwanted.

It is unnecessary because owners have payed for and successfully moderated their own servers by their own rules for years.

It is abusable because people can report anyone they want for no reason at all, or even intentionally spamming the report system to get players or server owners banned.

It is unsafe because of the false reports, and for external moderators context is difficult to understand and act accordinly. Furthermore, the report reasons are still unclear, and up to interpretation.

It is unwanted because Minecraft is an all ages game. Children AND adults play this game, and people have different standards on what is acceptable.

Conclusion: report system is not recommended for java multiplayer servers. It will make people scared of rules they don't get or want.

I am against this chat moderation feature! This has already been dealt by servers themselves and has worked for years. I should only be moderated server base

Adding chat reporting, or global reporting overall is absolutely horrid and should be taken out IMMEDIATELY. The player pays for the software, the player pays for the server hosting, the player pays for EVERYTHING, thus the player should be able to decide.

Don't invade my private servers, you are not paying for hosting and are not affiliated with them.

As someone who has been playing Minecraft for many years now on bedrock and java I strongly believe that an implementation of a reporting system that spans the whole of multiplayer and maybe even single player and realms is a terrible idea for the community. Servers should have the ability to enforce their own rules and Mojang/ Microsoft  should have no part of this.

Please please please mojang, do not implement this action. I have seen for the past few years that servers can run their own moderation system just fine. People can also be targeted by these bans such as big youtubers

Any form of chat reporting is a bad idea - do not add this feature.

Nothing has made me more fearful for my safety while playing on a server than this 'safety feature'

Please limit chat reporting to official servers allow 3rd party servers to govern themselves and to continue existing.

Will chat reporting be optional on servers? If not, then I will have to use mods to not have to deal with a flawed system.

I  think the new chat reporting system is very flawed, it is a good idea but needs changing, perhaps servers could list rules and then while reviewing chat, moderators could review the rules first.

Ok, so please remove the report system, i have over 800 hours playtime on some servers, and if i lose all my progress because of a false ban and im not getting unbanned, then all of you know whats gonna happen. What im trying to say is that please just let the server owners moderate chat messages and its all gonna be fine.

100% disagree, all multi-player servers already have their moderation functions, and creating another one will just make the player base confused, because they will get banned for things they have done for years. And also the system is very, very abusable, you should spend your money and focus more on the game updates, wich, not to offend, but a lot of people are disappointed since 1.17

Other people have already said a lot. I just want to say that this feature can be used in a very bad way. For example, trolls blackmailing people for in game currency, thretening to report otherwise. There will be hacked clients, logging in to every server and reporting everyone on the server. Please don't make this the most hated update because of microsoft.
