If this is implemented add a feature to opt out of chat reporting for servers/realms. My personal messages in my realms shouldn't be able to be reported as it's just me and my friends being stupid. Listen to your community Microsoft.

We need to stop the Microsoft because they the one started it in the first place

Please do not put reporting and banning in the game. The moderation of minecraft has been controlled by the community for years, and everybody is fine with that! The biggest problem is the fact that context is very important. Maybe when someone says something on a server, it won't have the correct context when you only see the chat. And that also depends on the server. Please do not ruin your reputation microsoft

This is so easily abuseable, just leave the moderation to servers who actually know what they're doing.

This new chat reporting feature is deeply flawed. You could get banned for no good reason, and you aren't even told why. Just let the server admins moderate their own server, or at least make it a togglable option. (For the server admins.)

You can just make chat sensoring a setting and you can make reporting a server setting, you can even make an "owner command" making the owner unable to be banned from his own server (this can happen for realms automaticly). If reporting is not balanced or even removed Minecraft will contintinue to die and will stay dead.

Mojang, this game has made tons of friendships for years, DO NOT ADD THIS! We understand you want to moderate things and keep it kid-friendly, but third-party servers already do this VERY WELL and have been for years!

Chat reporting.... Just a really bad idea. Like no one is going to abuse it, and make people get banned for the slightest of jokes. Servers themselves should chose whether a person gets banned, not Microsoft.

If a person is bad, then they'll get banned from a server, and not from realms, or even worse, SINGLE PLAYER WORLDS.

Remove it. On both Java and Bedrock.

A lot if not all servers have their own moderation, their own rules and with that their own idea of how to behave in the game. No server wants or even needs an external moderation. It whould be for the best if this feature could be toggled on and off.

Minecraft is a game for all ages, why should these rules apply to everyone - even adults? At the very least there should be an option to disable these features for third party servers (perhaps a warning could be shown when joining a server with moderation disabled?). Not to mention, third party servers are paid for by their owners, why should Microsoft be involved with them in any way?

The New Chat Report System has no need to be in the game as third party servers have there own plugins for this issue. furthermore this chat reporting system could cause false bans due to there being no context. This makes me uncomfortable to join servers and have fun as i am constantly worrying about saying anything in chat.

Get rid of the chat reporting system. Minecraft has been the only game that has remained mostly positive for a decade, and I want it to stay that way. If things continue to go in this direction, it’ll be no different than any other game which was "good at first but then became worse as time went on".

    I've got a couple questions:

Why? This update simply isn't necessary for the greater multiplayer scene. Server owners (and their subsequent moderating teams) have been able to effectively moderate servers without intervention from outside sources. The new change would make sense if it were applied only to realms, where the servers are hosted and owned my Microsoft rather than 3rd parties (which should be allowed to pick their own rules on their servers that they pay for).

What? What has caused the apparent 'need' for this update to be implemented. The community of java players have not had a problem with the older format of punsihment.

How? How and why does the actions on one server (which may even allow some of the things that you could get reported for on their server, within legality) allow you to get banned from the entirety of multiplayer and realms? For example you could use a profanity on a server which formally allows it, and then a troll false reports you for said actions and then you are banned for no reason?

However, I concede that there are positive elements to this update such as the introduction of a TOGGLEABLE profanity filter (please keep it Toggleable) and the other report options seem to be more reasonable and inline with what you would expect.

Regardless, I see this update as a negative to the java experience besides its [few and far between] upsides, and should have the changes written in the comment and surrounding comments acted upon.

    Thank you.

Mojang, This is a *terrible* idea. Please consider making it optional or just remove it entirely. Servers will be chaotic and the owners could be banned themselves.

Do not add the chat report feature. First of all streamers Will get mass reported. Secondly You can see an the negativety for it in there comments, on youtube and probally much more places, no one wants this and no one needs this. Third, You cant have as much fun with friends without worrying from getting banned when just joking around a bit. Now the last thing, minecraft Will probally lose a LOT of players because of people getting banned and probally even false banned, Will probally quit only being able to play singleplayer

Please do not implement chat reporting for third party servers. Most servers already have their own admins and server rules and can manage themselves. I own a private server with some of my friends, and we prefer to be able to talk freely about what we want and not have to worry about a moderation system.

I’m so concerned for the future of this game. Please remove the chat report feature, server admins have been able to do it perfectly for years.
