I love this new world generation and all the changes, but, this is the opportunity to change the river's high, as you did in the aquifers, we can finally get waterfalls, Deltas, etc... because Currently all the rivers looks like Valleys

Hi mojang team, I just tried out the new snapshot and it is visually breathtaking, both caves and the cliffs, im very excited for the update to drop at this point. However, I do enjoy how giant the lands are now, it had taken out all the flatness of the plains biome and I personally feel that the plains biome should remain slightly flatter than the rest of the biomes that can generate very high. As i feel alot of players choose to build on the plains biome due to it's colours and flatness. Just a suggestion! But otherwise this update is looking like it might turn out to be the perfect minecraft update

So I just tested the 1.18 preview and my laptop struggled with the world generation. Whole parts of the world weren't generating at all and some other took minutes to generate. I tried survival and spectator mode. I have a core i3 8th gen 2 core and 8GB of Memory with build in graphics card.

    Thanks

Looks like the nether is entirely lava lakes right now. Just pointing it out in case you all didn't already know. There's basically no ground to walk on.

I saw badlands generating at a decently high height, this biome seems like a "warm" biome to me and I believe that the max height this biome can generate at should be lowered.

This version is really good! The new mountains biomes are beautiful. But there're still some shortcomings.

Lush caves generate pretty weirdly. You can sometimes find a few of them in close proximity, but sometimes it is needed to travel a long distance to find this biome.

Rivers near new mountains biomes are pretty often filled with grass and don't have water.

Structures are surrounded by incorrect biomes, due to one block of correct one. When I was wandering around my world I found:

    - oak tree in the birch forest biome

    - pillager outpost in the mountains biome

    - jungle pyramid in the savanna biome

    - a whole taiga village in the forest biome.

Also, in my opinion, sometimes the terrain is too shattered, because of big caves entrances (especially irritating when the cave is filled with water, making extremely deep lakes).

I like so much to play in Large Biomes, I just hope that option could come back in the final release because now it is disabled, like the Amplified as well

    hello mojang

i think that the light level for mobs to spawn should be a bit higher because this would make some mob farms not function a well

also i have a low end pc so i hope you take into consideration that we dont want minecraft to be unplayeble with low en pcs just because off the new generation so i hope you fix it because it is unplayeble for me even if using mods such as optifine.

    thank you for your attention

I love so much about this update. It truly feels like a whole new level of game! My only enduring issue with it is the limitation of ores spawning in caves, paired with the inability to insta-mine deepslate.

It feels like there is a misunderstanding about why players take exploratory risks in caves. It is most frequently so that they may find resources. Giving us amazing and beautiful but empty caves is giving with one hand and taking away with another. Ore discovery should be a viable incentive to enter caves, as this keeps the game more beginner friendly as well. Ore generation restricted by air exposure should, at the very least, be lessened.

Beyond this, I absolutely adore this update and haven't smiled this wide in quite some time! The meadow has to be a new favorite of mine. Great work!

Hello Mojang! I think for the experimental snapshot, maybe lush caves should be like mushroom islands. No monsters spawn there no matter what. Even though the glow berries supply enough light, there are still some dark patches in lush caves. Also, there should be a gamerule that adjusts the max light level that monsters can spawn in. Personally, I think that the mechanic where monsters spawn at light level 0 is good, but many people would disagree, so adding a such gamerule would be a good idea.

Can we please have skis? This is because it would make traveling mountains more fun. Other than that if y'all keep the ice caves bug and make it a feature and update the temperature map to make sure cold mountains don't go into a mesa then I think it can work right now.

Overall I enjoyed exploring the new generation, however, I found that the water was everywhere. In addition, I would like to see at least some of the rivers just stay regular rivers, rather than turning them all into deep underwater ravines. Nearly all the caves were Underwater, and it made it seem like the bad generation in a caves-only world for previous versions.

I think another small but powerful change would be to prevent grass from spawning on moss blocks. it makes it too cluttered and looks ugly.

Just tried some things out with and found that red sand is now even more rare. It used to be 1 layer on a rather flat surface. Flying around in 5 different worlds where you'd normally find it, I managed to acquire a total of 37 red sand, in all the 5 worlds combined.

Another thing I discovered was a happy surprise. A deep warm ocean. As far as I am aware, this never used to generate in previous versions. If it did, I never saw one. Hope it stays.

Spawners are way too easy to disable. But loving the change of light level 0 for most hostile mobs to spawn.

Another funny thing I found was random azalea trees in all different biomes. I thought this was announced to be a plains biome exclusive? I also found a few aquifers above ground which made for an interesting river. Hoping to see local water levels above ground for much more interesting rivers and waterfalls overall.

Other than that, I think the mountains look stunning. Height map for different terrain is great. Wish to see more of the flatter areas in the world as all over it was steep hills. Hoping to see biome placed more naturally with temperature as they were all over the place.

I really like how rivers have more variations to them, something else i think could be cool if you have even bigger rivers but more like a loch or a lagoon

The cave generation is honestly great, but one thing I noticed outside of caves was the fact that there was an abrupt change between the shore and the water, most rivers had steep shores that were hard to get into. I also noticed that mountains had snow in their caves and whether this was intentional or not it looks awesome! It would be cool so see the "snow caves" be elaborated on and maybe be a biome found under the mountains or snowy biomes. So, If there was a smoother transition between shore and land and *maybe* snow caves, the update would be perfect!

Hi people at Mojang! These new biomes are looking fantastic, but I have a few suggestions. The only structures that I tend to find while exploring most biomes is villages, which is fine. But, I think it would be great if up in these tall mountains you could find a new structure or two, such as a lookout tower, or a lone cabin in the flowering meadows with some sort of secret. That is all I have to suggest for now, best of luck!

    Dear, Mojang Team,

What a snap shot! I love the terrain Generation! In my head I'm already building bases on the side of those amazing mountains and cliffs. I love the smaller cliffs at the shores and the higher hills inside of the different biomes. The caves look amazing too! However, I am still scared that it could be too easy to reach diamonds and other valuables. One thing that I noticed with the Biome generation is that there sometimes is a very small biome (1 or 2 chunks or sometimes even 1 tree) that would be a different type of biome than its surroundings. To me this looks like a bug. However if these are the only critiques that I have, then this update will be amazing. Keep up the great work and thank you for all the years of joy that you and this game have brought me!

Hello Mojang team! ive gotta say you've done a great job with these new biomes, however there are some generation issues that i would like to bring up.

There seems to be a bug of some sort where various biomes (swamps, badlands, jungles, stone shores, tiagas, ect...) spawn randomly and very out of place. these are usually very small in scale but they occur rather frequently. Another thing i would suggest: the scale of each cave biomes (dripstone caves/lush caves) feel a bit off. The lush caves seem too big, and the dripstone caves seem scarce and tiny. usually only small portions of a cave have dripstone in them and its rather underwhelming.

On the other hand, i would like to point out some things that i quite like about the generation. I do like how cave entrances generate, caves in snowy biomes are full of snow and ice, the mountains are majestic and well rounded shape-wise. its definitely an upgrade and i cant wait to see what you guys can fit into this update.

Hello! The lighting is cool, but it could make the game much easier than it needs to be, balancing that would be very interesting. There should probably be a new light category of blocks that prevent mob spawning (for example, one of the main points of redstone torches is that they don't block spawning and so you can't mob-proof with them), or if there's places you want with less spawning try to lower it under those conditions instead of everywhere. If biomes are different at different elevations, there could be a select few special biomes where light level for spawning is, let's say, 5 or even lower. This way, a lot of the other spawning and fighting experiences can remain (It would be more useful to be able to fight the monsters in light rather than in complete darkness without transporting them far out of the dark =] )

Dear Mojang team, i tested the current 1.18 experimantal snapshot and i am very happy how it turned out. Just some mistakes appered wich seem not to be intendet. I had not found a single dripstone cave and the biomsize is very small. Also i would like to get a /locate ore_vain command to lokate orevains easier and i liked the mountaingeneration from a previous beta version more because there the mountains have been more sharp.

I hope you like my feedback (i am sorry for bad english because i am german)

There are a lot of random floating islands with this new generation. They look very strange and I think it would look a lot better if they either weren't there or if they looked more purposeful. I also noticed a lot of weird spots where a bunch of biomes were in the same place and it looked very strange. I think some pointy mountain ranges would be cool as well - I didn't see any. Thank you for all of your great work!

The looks are beautiful! The amount of snow on the mountains can be a lil irritating to the eyes, could have less snow. overall I think its really good

Now that villages can spawn on practically any kind of terrain, the generation of their pathways should be a lot smarter, with added stairs and ladders just like how pillars and chains were added to the mineshafts.
a village pathway should always be completely walk-able, without having to detour off or around the path.

Please keep the change where monster can only spawn in complete darkness! I love this so much!
