What if we were able to use copper ingots to upgrade iron tools and armor to bronze on the smithing table, similar to how diamonds are upgraded to netherite? In this case, it would give iron items a little more durability and toughness, but not so much that it outclasses diamond. This would give people a reason to want to keep finding more copper. Maybe you would have to combine the copper ingots with another item to get a bronze ingot, and that's what you'd use on the iron tool/armor. Maybe the recipe would be like, an iron or gold ingot surrounded by 8 copper ingots?

Maybe it would be a cool idea if you could create copper minecarts. They would behave the same, but with one difference. If a copper minecart touches another copper minecart they stick together like a train. Like magnets. Many people want minecarts to stick in some way and I think this is the way to make it possible in a creative and natural way without breaking the whole minecart system

I’d like to see a copper door and trapdoor that are stylized like heavy, water-tight points of entry, like on a ship.

Another good addition would be a copper pressure plate that behaves like a medium version of the gold and iron pressure plates. The copper pressure plate would increase output every 5 entities.

What I think would be cool is if iron could oxidise like copper, turning brown-red as time goes on (not enough brown-coloured blocks in minecraft imo). This could be prevented with beeswax. Perhaps this could also affect iron golems?

I agree copper could still use more uses, but so far I thought Mojang had done a pretty good job with giving the community what they needed from some of the suggestions for copper, rather than giving us what we literally asked for.

People asked for player-detecting copper pressure plates? Sculk can detect player-specific vibrations.

People asked for copper wires as vertical or aerial redstone? Sculk sensors now gave us wireless redstone.

People asked for copper pipes as an alternative to hopper chains for item transport? They're not the same, but allays offer new item transport possibilities.

And people asked for copper lanterns, and instead Mojang gave us THREE new light blocks in the form of the froglights, which originally I was pretty happy with and forgot about copper lanterns.

But having played 1.19 for a while, in lots of different new worlds, I think the game still needs copper lanterns. Froglights are yet another cool lighting block players can only get in the Nether. There are still very few nice decorative lighting blocks for the early stages of the game, which is frustrating when you're trying to decorate builds or make fitting houses for villages. Copper lanterns would make a great complement to iron ones, especially now iron is rarer so already-expensive iron lanterns become even more of a waste of resources early game.

Copper needs an actual survival mode use. Being able to use it instead of iron for railroad is a good idea.

Copper dagger, can be made into dagger pair, is base material for smithing table upgrades to higher level dagger. High attack speed, possibly movement speed buff that increases most with leather armor.

I think it has a great lack of uses.
