Permanently add the endlessly generated dimensions from the April Fools 2020 snapshot (infinity snapshot).
Also add this to Bedrock.
There are 2 ways to balance something like this, either add a toggle on the world creation menu or use the inscription table idea (see further bellow).
It would be a good way to have a greater access to some of the rarer blocks in Minecraft, or some of the blocks or items usually unobtainable in survival (i.e. spawn eggs and mob cages could be found in chests).
This being said super rare or expensive blocks, such as netherite or diamonds should be exceptionally rare so that there is some form of balance.
Also the dimensions should be less chaotic but still weird and remove the joke dimensions.
Accessing the infinite dimensions should be an end game feature, requiring the player to make a new block called an inscription table, this should require at minimum; Netherite, End Stone and an Enchanting Table.
To use the inscription table you need a book and quill and a certain amount of levels, write and sign the book from within the inscription table and then throw into a Nether Portal.
Thanks to zKaitzo and other commenters for some of these ideas, also please read their comments for further information.

Or at least something similar
Nova sent me a link to this post, after I did a similar request.
Since you're not detailed enough (no offense, you're a man of culture as well), I'll repost my own post over here, in case it gets deleted:
Hello. I'd really love to see you keeping this April Fool as some kind of option during world generation. You could for example add the 'Infinite Dimensions' button right besides the 'Cheats: On/Off' button. As this may be very op, this seems like the right place for this button to be. Pro's: We may experience items, blocks and mobs from coming updates in the infinite amount of generations. Which wouldn't be possible otherwise. As the worlds are not random, we may experience the upbringing of an art, where people who know how to code dimensions generate some for the community. Literally everything will be possible. This may be the birth of a new mechanic for knowledge exchange, right besides redstone, building and pvp metas. Why spend years on building worlds, which are limited anyway, if you could generate them (given that you have the patience to learn the seed-language)? Cons: As this'd be optional, there aren't any. About bugfixing: So long everything outside of the Plain of Infinite Worlds works, there are no bugs. Only features. Please remove Herobrine during the next snapshot, instead of this genuinely awesome feature. The next update may hold the potential for the player to ultimately generate worlds by the exact way he wants them to be.
Thanks for doing that, zKaitzo - just want to keep this discussion together! :)
I had made a post very similar on here since there was nothing else on here at the time I See that It's disappeared. Anyways, had some Ideas that more or less amounted to this and mystcraft, Think it'd be a better endgame than what currently exists.
Balance it, make customizable worlds. boom mind blownPlease add this to bedrock! And the button for this feature in world options is genius!
Its an awsome Idea and i would Love IT, to have IT in the Game! It would be so much fun and on a MC Multiplayer Vanilla Server IT would be a cool addon when you have one Portal and every day a different Dimension!!!
This is the best April fools one ever I believe
The option should be disabled by default
We should be able to make custom biomes and dimensions via commands (that bring up interfaces) and datapacks, imagine someone making a lunar landscape via low fog, black sky, no moon, smooth landscape etcto do that we would need a lot of customizability, but it would be amazing to see in minecraft before 1.20
Please no. I almost believed that they would add this, and I was terrified. This update deserves to stay in my nightmares. It is so distinctly un-minecrafty it's almost funny. It's like something from a mod. Please don't add this horrible and weird update mojang. This is just my opinion.
I've had an idea regarding the dimensions of the 20w14infinite snapshot.
I think it is a good idea to implement in the game once the dragon is killed. You will be able to generate your dimensions of random generation, or use special books that a villager (or the wandering traders) will sell you. You can earn succulent rewards or special achievements by completing quests that include the books. You will have to complete the events within the different dimensions, but do not get too attached to what you see, because once you return to the overworld the inventory will not be preserved.
Dimensions can be completely random and completely meaningless. So be very careful, other crazy prank day ideas could be found there.
Bedrock *definitely* needs this. For parity.
I wonder if they are going to make procedural generated mobs for these infinate dimensions
I say add it as a "dream" dimension that players can go to when sleeping.
Just don't make it so our games crash after a few seconds.
Honestly, as it is now is pretty damn solid. Polish it up a bit (remove the joke rooms) and make the dimensions a bit less chaotic (few to no withers, dimensions that are basically just floating blocks should be culled.
Throw in a fistful that act like buffet worlds, and it's a pretty awesome way to expand the game.
It could be dual-seed dependant. Your world seed changes what dimension is assigned to what "seed" you put in the book.
This could also be part of a "Magic Update" giving more purpose to enchanting tables by making them the source of these dimension-hopping books, with the end ships being the only way to reach certain dimensions through the "Order" books. And overhauling potions to be more useful in single player, and a bit more practical to use.
Or we could have a way to generate new dimensions inside existing worlds with custom parameters similar to the old "custom" world option from 1.12
Not even kidding having this is the game would be pretty fun and I would have no idea if this would be a challenge to have this permanently added to the game but having it as a world gen option would be awesome.
This isn't fair we Bedrock and pocket edition players are always left out in such activities and updates
Why should this be? We have paid for our software as well didn't we?This isn't fair we Bedrock and pocket edition players are always left out in such activities and updates
Why should this be? We have paid for our software as well didn't we?Something less wacky
I think it's a cool thing to play around with, but it doesn't feel like Vanilla Mincraft enough to be an actual update and I think it would put me off playing if it was. It might be cool to have it in the "World Type:" menu though dor occasional use.
I've tried to save the version so if they toggle it I should put the version into ".minecraft/version" and I can play also if they leave it
And in bedrock you should disable achievements. Because it would not be fair to get a elytra without going to the end for example. Or its and end game thing where you can throw the dragon egg into the portal then you can access the infinite dimensions
Don't make it an in-game mechanic (that would be stupid). Rather have it as a a world type you can select from the world creation screen where the seed you define determines what type of world you get.
And maybe also remove the part of it that changes the colours of mobs, items, and the gui. The rest would be pretty cool to keep.
Yes, but I believe it should be added as a cheat
I want this to be in bedrock
