Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

as someone who builds a lot of nightclubs and concert venues this would be the best thing to ever be added to minecraft. Even using stainedglass windows should in theory tint light to the respective color

This would be really cool! Maybe axing the redstone lamp would make the light randomly flicker when powered as well, which could add to the spooky vibe of a dark light source.

I was going to add my own suggestion of this and saw the post here. They keep adding new light sources, but no change in light hue. Even if its the barest hint of a hue, it would make the biggest difference in a build. I want soul fire to emit a slight blue tone to its glow, I want frog lights to emit a slight color based on the color frog light, I want mushroom lights to give you a strong orange glow.
You can already get these effects in the form of shades, but I honestly can't use shaders and I would love to see this in the game by default

Absolutely! I love the idea of simply crafting a block of dyed glass with a redstone lamp to create this. Moreover, I would also suggest the idea of crafting one dye, a redstone lamp, and a block of tinted glass to create a redstone lamp which glows but doesn't produce too much light (similar to magma blocks' light-emitting properties).

I'm currently building a cyberpunk-style city with my friends, and lights are the only problem I have. I used the glass block layers + light source method for thick walls. But I can't use the same method to get the neon light effect in small places. MOJANG, please add this to both bedrock and java!!!!

Even if it means overhauling the whole lighting engine. We know it takes time and we can wait❤

I would love coloured iron lanterns! if we could add stained glass to the recipe to have all the colours in game that would be amazing!
