make food able to rot

When you are in a mid-advanced word usually starve is not a problem anymore, in that way most people have a lot of chest full of food.

 

I think that make food able to rot is a good idea because it would make to starve a trully problem to worry about.

 

Even this would be a good idea with one of the most weird problems of minecraft (i think), that is food variety,

In minecraft exist a lot of food that your character can eat in necessity moments, but there is a problem,

when you are advancing in the game and you make a cow farm, you are not in the necessity of other kind of food anymore (except for golden apple in some cases).

 

the time when different types of food take to rot should be different, that would force to the player to select different types of food with "lesser time to rot" and save it in their chest for more time that other types of food :v .

    This would just be a mess and annoying in late game. In early game you don't have much food so this doesn't affect you, and in late game it just means you have to waste time to craft a stack of golden carrots by stack, instead of crafting shulker boxes of them and not caring for a couple of months.
    It also wouldn't fix food variety at all, it would just force people to make the same food stack by stack.
    Overall, it would do nothing for early game, and be annoying late game.
