I have purchased licenses for Minecraft Java edition, Bedrock Edition for Windows, Bedrock Edition for Android, and Bedrock Edition for iOS.

My M1 Mac can run iOS applications - if the publisher allows them to be run on a Mac.

And yet I still can't run Minecraft Bedrock edition on my Mac to play with my kid on their iPad.

As one of the hundreds of people that have requested this has done so in the previous 7 or 8 years, I too would like to post my comment in support of Mojang (and Microsoft) enabling Minecraft Bedrock on MacOS. If not for all MacOS, then just for the M-series chips which run on the same processors and iPhones and iPads. This would be such an easy feature to introduce, and allow many school kids (and adults) that have Macs for school to join and play with their friends on a Mac with a keyboard and mouse.

Microsoft, Mojang, please consider doing this in the near future.

    Heyyyyy Mojang
I don't know if you knew, but the *NIX launcher for Minecraft is currently broken, something about an "XXXL regression" and an encrypted APK?
So uh. I physically cannot play Minecraft with my siblings... I really want to be able to.
Could you at least confirm whether this is under consideration?

Linux is only becoming more and more main stream with steamos, I feel like Mojang should package a new Minecraft launcher for MacOS, SteamOS/Linux with both bedrock and Java built in for the definitive Minecraft experience. They've pretty much ported this version of Minecraft to almost everything at this point except Linux and MacOS which is still surprising to me, praying they port this version for cross play 🙏🙏

The user who said, "I don't know if you knew, but the *NIX launcher for Minecraft is currently broken". It seems to be working fine for me on Ubuntu Linux. Minecraft Java loads and runs fine. Minecraft Bedrock does not load but that is what the original thread is about.

NGL, I feel kinda disappointed that "cross platform" Minecraft isn't actually cross platform and ignores two big other PC operating system. Windows isn't the only computer Operating System.

Please make a Mac version of bedrock! I would be happy to purchase it as a standalone.

I fully support this request. It is honestly inexplicable that the best-selling and most democratic game in history, which prides itself on the "build together" philosophy, still lacks a native Bedrock client for Mac and Linux.

My interest in this is practical: after my Windows laptop failed, I transitioned to a Mac Mini, as skyrocketing costs for PC components like RAM and SSDs made it the more sensible hardware investment at the time. However, because there is no Bedrock version for macOS, I am now unable to play with my daughter, who uses an Xbox Series S. This lack of platform parity creates an unnecessary barrier for families who rely on cross-play to connect.

Technically, porting to macOS would be extremely simple. The iPad version already runs the Bedrock engine, and since the transition to Apple Silicon, the architecture is now identical to iPadOS. With modern frameworks, bringing the iPad codebase to Mac involves near-zero friction and negligible development effort. Most of the groundwork is already done; it is simply a matter of deployment.

If Minecraft truly aims to be the most accessible game in the world, it needs to be available on all desktop operating systems. Let's make the "Play Anywhere" promise a reality for everyone, regardless of their OS.
