Please do not tie it to the phases of the moon. Just have each season be 91 in game days and so each season would last 30.33 hours in real life.

I would like to see falling leaves and leaf piles in the autumn, and bare branches in the winter, covered in snow during snowfall.

Longer days/shorter nights in summer, longer nights/shorter days in winter?

extremely great idea. The trees obviously have to change color, and yk, other stuff that 2 2 do with the seasons.but What is the cycle gonna be like?

Hmm… Changing seasons should be done every three lunar cycles, which is accurate to the real world. And if I am being honest, this single post made all the way back in 2017, five years ago, has 25 pages worth of comments frankly, Mojang has already been bombarded with uncanny amounts of ideas, some accurate, some reasonable, some exiting, and some questionable. However, I am confident that they will be apple to put together the best ideas for this change and, implement the into Minecraft delicately and respectfully, in a few months. Due to the fact that, to be frank, looking through all these comments and finding the best ones is awe-strikingly complex, to put it lightly.

not a bad idea, but I will add that in the savannah you can make a rainy season, in the summer there will be a drought, and in the spring there will be rains, and the same in other warm biomes, and in the winter biomes, do not change anything, but furnish everything as it is

I think seasons should change about every 4-6 moon cycles. Longer time periods between season changes would be better so players can create season specific build without having to rush or wait excessive amounts of time for the preferred season to return. I think players should experience a season change every 3 sessions of play.

Select leaf blocks changing color based on season, specifically oak, birch, and dark oak. Perhaps fall leaf colors (red, yellow, orange) can be generated in patches (tied to coordinates). Much in the same way the flower forest biome generates patches of identical flowers. This would allow for more natural beauty.

Perhaps a silk touch tool can allow one to collect a certain leaf color (including white leafs during snow) to use in builds.

Yes, I would really like that! Maybe you could also change the length of each season in settings, but you have to enable some thing like "customize seasons", otherwise it would be regular, and to edit it, it requires cheats to be turned on. Also an option to turn seasons off (without turning on cheats) for servers or people who don't like the update.

I also think there should be winter, spring, summer and fall/autumn versions of enemies, as that would add to the aesthetic, and otherwise would seem a bit off.

I LOVE THIS IDEA I’m up for anything that makes the game harder and more realistic I love the idea of having seasons and the idea that I’m winter crop growth would be slow and probably harder and that in spring crops and flower would start budding and than in summer things could bloom

love the idea. I love snowy landscapes and how all the trees are covered in snow and it looks like a winter wonderland. I would absolutely love to see this phenomenon implemented into my favorite game.

They already gave snow biomes in Bedrock Edition snowy leaves, why not Java? Also I would love to see things like falling leaf particles or even simple natural flowers having animations during day/night cycle.

I think different biomes should have different season numbers and/or durations so that there are perks and benefits in living in a certain biome, I also think that although it would be cool to have the different growth cycles in different seasons, I do think that would be too long and it wouldn’t work so well with render distance and what not. I think that there should be different crop nerfs and buffs depending on the season. For example harvest out put us double in autumn or growth rate is double in summer and half in winter. Sometimes like that where you are still able to grow anytime of the year. Also I think you should be able to grow in an indoor controlled environment to grow like it has been just not to break things or make people upset m.

The idea of seasons is something I would love to see in Minecraft but I think this update could come with more types of weather too maybe? such as snowstorms or hale.

I like a lot your idea.

Maybe mojang could also add berry bushes and fruit tree that can grow only in 2/3 senson.

For exemple: strawberries can growth during spring, summer; apple during spring, summer and autumn.

Obiusly during winter a lot of plants can't grow because of low temperature and snow.

This would also bea good update to add temperature. We already have frostbite for when you get too cold in powdered snow, but it would be cool if you could get an effect called heatwave that would tint your screen orange, give you slownes, and mining fatiuge.

Honestly I think it should include deserts as well. It should be like rain and very small chance of snow as I used to live in a desert and it rains often but almost never snows.

This could make use of the new freezing mechanic in Minecraft. You have to find shelter before winter as an added difficulty to the game. Maybe you have to have special potions or armour to be resistant to the freezing. And of course that will pass overtime and you can go back to normal Minecraft for the next 3 seasons
