This is an amazing Idea, I hope they go with it:) It would give a new level of life to Minecraft worlds.

Also shouldn't be too difficult to include and could be the basis for many future features.

As for the time it takes for a season to change, I hope it would be long enough to not feel so constant and fast changing- but akin to real life where it feels like a long while to change. There are some MC players who play 8 hours a day and I feel like if the seasons changed within that time range it’d be too jarring. There is also something to consider- streamers, or MC multiplayer servers. In servers where players are on nearly 24/7 I think its then it makes sense this really needs to be drawn out.

I am not sure what would be a good time range, but I think it should take several real life days. Changing seasons so rapidly in the span of a few hours is way too fast.

Perhaps even a option to toggle how long it takes to change.

Obviously, snow should melt in the spring or when it is placed in an area that is warm do to either the season or the climate. If I place a block or layer of snow, it should melt if the temperature is to warm. This can apply to a heat source, too, such as lava, fire, torches, and furnaces. Snow blocks should turn into stacked snow layers that decrease as the snow melts. Puddles could be added, too, which will produce steam particles if it is even hotter and could even disappear if it is too hot. Puddles could stack up to a full water source block. This will make the spring season full of ambiance because there will be melting snow and puddles scattered across the ground. Any grass blocks next to a water source or puddle will grow grass, tall grass, and flowers. Or, puddles could seep into the ground, forming a moist version for any soil block, and moist soil will grow grass or flowers. Overall, this would make a beautiful spring scene.

Me personally, I think this feature is one of them controversial ones. It's a idea many would think is great but look at (yes i know a racing game) Forza Horizon 4 everyone hated the winter season on that now ofcourse you dont have to worry about your horse sliding out but for many people the snow would be quite annoying. With that said I have thought for a long time that it should snow in december (goes off your device date) and maybe snow men spawn or something XD.

I don't think freezing water is such a big issue. Usually there would be a heat (light) source around and it also shouldn't work if there's a block above it, blocking it from being exposed to the sky.

on bedrock leaves in snow biomes already turn white while its snowing. it could be repurposed to make them orange, yellow red or some other shade of green for autumn.

This would be cool if there was also a command like /season for it. Also would it be in only the biome or the whole world, I would think the whole world.

this would make the whole world more immersive and if we are able to silk touch the sessional variants of leave colors it would give players a really cool addition. This would also complement the wilds update so so well.

The wilds update wouldn't be complete if you didn't add the very thing that makes the wild so interesting. when people think of the forest, they do think of trees and swamps and different types of biomes but, if you attached Autumn to the context of a forest, the mental image changes. Seasons and seasonal variants to biomes would immerse the wilds update even more than before.

and it doesn't have to be the 4 seasons in the traditional sense. Jungle biomes can have a rainy season where it's constantly raining and thundering. Snowy Biomes can have snowstorms that may spawn more snow carpet layers. Of course, the traditional seasons for Common biomes but the idea of months and years in Minecraft sounds incredibly fun. I think people who play on servers would enjoy that a lot because you can set up in world holidays for you and your friends.

This would be a great boost to replayability. It essentially has the potential to quadruple the exploration value of the overworld. It's a massive change, but could improve our experience significantly.

I want the option to have the minecraft season be like the actual season on earth, with northern or southern hemisphere selectable. In winter it could be winter in minecraft as well. (Or the other way around, whatever I like).

With the lunar phases, eclipses came to mind, they would be a fantastic addition to the game, they could even say that when there is a lunar eclipse, some type of hostile mob can be generated and the amount in which it can be generated It depends on how red the moon is

A update for new seasons would be great! The best way for winter, I know would be making biomes not have as much snow as a snowy biome, and the snowy biome simply having less snow in the summer. All support from me!

I love this idea. I'd like to see reduced rain/storms/lightening during off seasons.

I'd like to see tree leaves change colour.

Yes! But we can have a very long daylight and very short night time at the summer, normal daylight and night time at spring and autumn season, winter season can be very long night time same a christmas holiday and very short day light.

I would rather add a fall seasonal biome's( and either a spring biome or some flowering trees to the flower forest ) then have the world change so drastically all the time.   The Biggest problem would be winter, as I can only imagine that the water freezing rules from the snowy biome would apply across the world.   This would mean that you would have to Protect your important water from freezing as if you we're in a snowy biome in any temperate biomes. :)
