I agree, some have become too simple. I look at the new deep dark cities and the bastions and then compare them to the ugly jungle temple and villages.

maybe add some loot that can be used and only be found in specific structures for specific uses, for example:

    desert pyramid:

    trap: tnt explosion
loot: 1/5000% chance of getting something like a special helmet that can withstand the blast for players with midgame armor like enchanted iron

     deep dark cities:
trap: the sculk shriekers and warden
loot: 2/6000% chance of getting noise cancelling boots for 10 - 20 seconds before having to recharge making you stop from time to time.

of course these are just thoughts and i don't really expect them to be used

I 100% agree! It would be so benefitial to have some of the builds change - especially the villages. I mean, they look okay with that villager update, but still. A lot of the temples are completely neglected, too.

I also think there should be more rewards from looting them.

I would certainly support any variety of redesign. Especially with the addition of newer structures, older structures, (Dungeons, Temples, igloos, witch huts, etc), seem much more out of place. The Wild update would be a great opportunity to change this.

...The trouble is, it isn't just aesthetics- its predictability. When they were first added, the traps in the jungle temple or the desert pyramid might have been challenging- but at this point, everyone knows exactly how to react to them. (Compare this to the Woodland mansion- which could still use some tweaks- but has enough random generation to make it much more interesting.) All of the more recent structures have some element of randomness or modularity, so that you're not just getting the same thing over and over again.

...I'm sure we'll see something like this eventually, but it would be really cool if the Wild Update brought it about. Consider this not an opportunity to replace existing structures... but to enhance them, and to expand upon their existing designs.

Yeah i think we need more interesting features for collecting loot, like in the jungle temple, people just mine through the wall. And the strongholds feel really empty, compared to the one in minecraft dungeons

It would be great, but add more structure and bigger ones would also be very good for exploration.

I agree with the people suggesting variation for jungle temple, desert temple and dungeon. Keep the original structure in the game but add versions with a different trap and treasure in a different place so you can't predict it and its more exciting. They can also vary the look of the structure by adding towers additional rooms and changing the patterns and blocks etc.

To get a similar effect I would actually reduce the size of the woodland mansion so that it can be less rare/ far away but not always contain every room so exploring them is still interesting.

Strongholds and nether fortresses are already very varied but I think adding new rooms to each would add a lot. The libraries are great and a couple other options like that would make each stronghold great. Those weird stronghold rooms with the ladder and fortress rooms with the stairs on the back wall need a use, for example. An armoury or barracks, throne room, chapel or whatever would add a lot to the lore and character of either place.

(End cities/the end needs a separate discussion)

I think each structure like temple ect should have spawner like desert temple have husk spawner and each rendering of temples should place traps differently bc now it not a challenge when we know where the traps is ever single time

I’m sorry, but it seems as if Mojang has kept their love of primitive Stone Boxes for a long time and will never adapt.

Yes... one structure seems to use similar blocks, and it would be cool for a redesign.

What if there were variants of structures?

I think major redesign there is a reason so many mods add new and revamp the current structures the need a update there are so many new blocks that could be added
Example dungeons that are in deepslate should use cobbled deepslate in stead of cobblestone
Also can we get mossy cobbled deeepslate

I like the simplistic structures, the fancier and bigger the buildings the more laggy and broken the game gets, if you want big and fancy use mods or something...

Keep the legacy structures but add some extras. I hate finding the same jungle temple over and over again. I'd be happy to see the original if I also find a bigger 'temple of doom' type strucutre later while exporing.

There is a new bookshelf coming in 1.20 and a new wood type so maybe these could be utilized

in my opinion i think that villages and pillager based structures (mansions, towers) are perfectly fine but things like the jungle temple and nether fortress are a bit bland.

Talking about an update for some structures, we have to talk about villages aswell.

Yes, they've got an update a few years ago, but still, I think it's time for some major changes.

First of all, many villages look more like a field with farly scattered houses and not like what a real village should look like. The average distance between the houses should be a lot smaller, so the village looks a bit more "packed". The "town centers" need a revamp too - it's just something like a small well or a bell, but what about generating a new building as a meeting point for the villagers? I'm thinking of a market hall or like that.

Secondly, the materials the villages are made of. Look at the plains. Cobblestone just doesn't look good on most houses. Change it to stone bricks. And then, add more wood types to the buildings. Why is it only oak in plains villages? Birch forests often aren't far away, so combine it with a few birch planks or stairs. Also savanna villages would look nicer if there weren't only acacia planks, but also jungle or mangrove planks used for some constructions.

    What do you think, guys?

Most severe one is the dungon when i hear dungeon i think im getting myself into a long grueling adventure with a great prize at the end. Nope we get a square with loot in it and a couple mobs to fight for it.

I think that the desert and jungle temples certainly need minor redesigns since the current designs are a bit dated. Perhaps decorative slabs and stairs could be incorporated into the structures so that they look more run-down, and the arrow traps in jungle temples could contain arrows with certain effects as well like poison, blindness, instant damage, ect. so that the danger presented to unprepared players can somewhat rival that of desert temples.

Nether fortresses are in serious need of redesign, since they are a structure that you basically need to run through to complete the game, and also since they have really fallen behind the rest of the nether in terms of appearance. The general layout of the nether fortress isn't so much of a problem as is the monotony of the whole thing being made of plain nether brick blocks. The devs could go a long way just by sprucing up the broken ends with slabs, and adding potholes along the paths. But the nether fortress might benefit from being changed more drastically, perhaps to the degree that villages were changed in 1.14.

Another things that could be done to nether fortresses is to add that hovering inferno thing, perhaps spawning in as part of the original generation, not respawning once it has been defeated. The hovering inferno could be something of a miniboss to be defeated either for the sake of its own non-farmable loot, or to access some important part of the fortress.
