Maybe they could have random room generation so it would be more challenging

Yes, I used to think that coming across one of these was sooo cool. And now, it just isn’t. It’s the same old thing every time, and we need more structures and a HUGE redesign

The structure the most in need of a redesign is definitely the nether fortress. When compared to the bastions, their age begins to show. They were made back when Minecraft was a simplistic game, with simplistic, blocky structures. But Minecraft is not what it used to be. It has evolved overtime, and the more new content is added, the more the old stuff begins to clash with the new. The nether fortress is a required visit to beat the game, so I feel it deserves more love. The devs had their chance in 1.16 to do it, but the update was already too big, and completely rewriting a structure would take to long. The least they could do is rewrite its generation code, and perhaps add the new nether brick variants to it as well. Though, honestly speaking, I feel like they'd need a new look to truly fit into this new vision of Minecraft.

All that said, I have no idea when this update would come. Probably not with 1.17 though.

YES! I totally agree with this idea! Here's some ideas I came up with about specific structures:

    - Jungle temples could be much more imposing, designed like an Aztec pyramid/temple complex and including challenging traps, puzzles, parkour, and a sprawling underground labyrinth. Maybe even some custom jungle-y blocks could be used, or smaller jungle ruins could appear around the temple?

    - Dungeons could have more than one chamber (still being small relative to other structures), and look more ruined/run-down than they do now. Like collapsed walls, water/lava flowing through cracks, more different varieties of stone used in them, etc.

    - Desert Temples would be more decorative and larger, with more traps in them, with different activation methods so the player has to stay on their toes. They could also be integrated into desert villages as well!

    - Igloos could come in various sizes, just to add to the immersion. Possibly the larger sizes could be rarer/have larger potion chambers below them.

    - Strongholds, while large and impressive, are still kind of boring/uniform. I suggest more stone varieties in their structures, 3d variations in the walls and floors, and several different sizes of corridors and rooms.

I would absolutely love to see generated structures updated in Minecraft; I think it would really add to the game's immersion! With the mineshafts starting to be overhauled, I have high hopes for this idea.

I think there should be multiple versions of each structure. One of them could be a slightly upgraded version of the original.

Also could we have actual maps and beds in woodland mansions?

Well I think a little bit of upgrade won't be a problem. However, I like the old ones cuz it's iconic. So in my resolution, let the old model stay as the part of the structure.
Like the desert pyramid, the old structure will be on top of the larger base where loot and treasure lays. The old jungle pyramid will still be the entrance while its underground part will be much deeper and will have underground labyrinth and have more traps.

I’m posting it here so it is more likely to be seen. They should add pillager camp sites around the world which contain loot.

Because Juan Torres comment is in a different language, I translated it through google translate with some edits:

It seems like a good idea to me that they could add outposts with wooden towers to defend against the player. When a pillagers crossbow breaks it becomes good enough, even if you give him another crossbow, they don't pick it up. When this happens, they become villagers. In the mansions there is a prison, so they should keep villagers there and instead of zombie villages they should have enslaved villagers that live, work and put resources in the nether fortress chests. They are always the same until there are images that describe the fortress in 7 parts or the stronghold should add the warden. Desert pyramids should have corridors and mazes with husk generators. The jungle temples need more traps like TNT or lava.

Make the chests in the center of the structure so you can’t easily mine to the chests.

not all the structures need redesigned, the pillager outposts and bastions are fine

Structures are really rare and they are underwhelming, the sea temple has a mini boss and so does the mansion but there’s no mini boss for the jungle and dessert temple :( also village generation is still awful there is always a ravine or massive holes making the villages look unrealistic and messy

Instead of a complete redesign that should just be more varients so you don't know what to expect

I like it, at least the jungle temples, that is the most forgotten structure to me.

Dungeons really need an update. They’re just a single cobblestone room. Multi-roomed dungeons would be great. Abandoned stairwells.

Agreed- the existing structures could use an overhaul. (Things like the ocean/jungle/desert temples, nether fortress, maybe even End Cities)... basically anything added after the update aquatic has started to feel a bit outdated when compared to new structures, terrain, etc. (This is the trouble with doing such a fantastic job updating older parts of the game... it tends to exemplify that other parts could also use some work...)

The main trouble is I'm not sure where such an improvement would fit... it's major enough to be a pretty big endeavor (And updating structures to be nicer without taking away from their classic appeal would certainlly be challenging), but not really major enough to constitute its own update. Still, I think this, (And some improvements to biomes, along with some proper ambiance), are what would finally finish off the Overworld.

-And I suppose another interesting idea is, instead of completely changing these structures, simply adding more variation, so you don't feel like you're finding the exact same thing or disarming the exact same trap every time.

I like villages the way they are, but it's true that desert pyramids, jungle temples, dungeons, witch huts and all other structures that don't generate somewhat randomly like Woodland Mansions, Nether Fortresses, End Cities or Ocean Monuments but are instead always the same could do some rework. I'm thinking maybe add a bunch of variants of the same structure, like what happens with Bastion Remnants, would be a great way to update them while keeping the same feeling they currently have.

I agree with this, Dungeons (The Structure, not the game) are just so bland. Dungeons in video games are supposed to be giant underground Well-designed mazes with special Loot and a Boss, not a Cobblestone Box. ITS BEEN 10 YEARS SINCE THEY WERE ADDED MOJANG, PLEASE UPDATE DUNGEONS ALREADY.

in my opinion, with the latest versions of this year, the jungle temple, the desert pyramid, the witch's house, among others, if they need a redesign, as they became really boring. PLEASE MOJANG LISTEN TO OUR REQUESTS.

Love the idea but I would like these ones to be updated:

    Stronghold, Dessert pyramids, Mineshafts

More small structures (like the "well") will add:
    Less repetitive world (diversity),
More visual references for speaking with other players. (actually you can't indicate a direction wihout North/E/W/S, or without F3)
More possibilities to custom structures with data-packs.

I agree strongly. The 1.14 redesign of villages and villagers really breathed new life into that structure, and I believe some other structures (like the Jungle and Desert pyramids especially) could easily take advantage of the powerful jigsaw block in their generation (as villages and bastion remnants do). Jungle pyramids could be trap-filled puzzle rooms with a hefty prize at the end (diamond or emerald blocks, maybe?). Desert pyramids could keep their explosive tendencies, but maybe they'd also have other rooms besides the main entry hall and 2nd floor.

This could very well be possible in the Wild Update. While a purely aesthetic update would be nice, there could be gameplay changes too... such as adding procedural generation to add a bit more randomness to temple traps/puzzles, or adding smaller structures of a similar style that generate around these structures to give them more context. (Such as little ruined pillars of mossy cobblestone/sandstone around jungle/desert temples.)

I feel like instead of a redesign, there should be the original versions, and then an advance version or something similar. That way the old structures can stay in the game while at the same time updating them.
