Why'd you remove the one tick copper bulb delay?!! It was an incredibly powerful tool for the Redstone community that was removed with no good reason!?

PLEASE revert the Copper Bulbs to use one tick instead of two ticks! It allowed for much more efficient and creative builds, and Minecraft is loaded with small inconsistencies that ENHANCE the gameplay! There are indeed inconsistencies that detract from it, but one tick Copper Bulbs were NOT one of them!

Today's snapshot (23w46a) changed ticking behavior of the copper bulb to be slower for the sake of consistency. The Crafter block was affected as well. While the Crafter block change makes sense and is likely for the best, the Copper Bulb change should be reverted.

The main benefits of the copper bulb working on a single tick include things as complicated as quicker redstone I/O storage for memory circuits; and things as simple as being able to play tighter music with noteblocks. The Copper Bulb is a very unique block and it should keep the qualities it has had upon release. Alternatively it would be interesting if each level of oxidation had a different redstone delay before turning on/off. Either way, please bring back the previous functionality of the copper bulb. Thank you for asking for feedback on this experimental feature.

In the latest snapshot copper bulbs were changed to update on redstone ticks instead of game ticks. Having a delay of a game tick was very useful and made the copper bulb more unique. This should be reverted to a game tick delay to allow more possibilities with redstone. Alternatively a new block could be added to allow delays of 1 game tick.

The changes to copper bulb as of this snapshot takes away a lot of uses in redstone. The 1 game tick delay was really useful as most redstone components only operate on even multiples of game ticks.

Copper doors and trapdoors should have the same toggle mechanic as the copper bulb. New additions to the game are the most interesting and useful when they are not just reskins of existing blocks.

Please revert the tick delay on the copper bulb from 2 ticks back to 1 game tick. You've just ruined a whole branch of redstone and you don't even know it.

Please revert the copper bul changes from 23w46a to the previous state. The 1 tick delay was the perfect addition and it's removal is painful and uncalled for.

The copper bulb changes are bad. The 1gt delay feature was the most useful thing it brought, even more useful than the toggle ability. It doesn't make sense to remove a feature that is UNIVERSALLY lauded. When you get it right first try and your entire community is telling you how good it is is, don't change it.

The concerns about it being inconsistent with other blocks are nonsense. That was the whole point of it. It brought something new.
The concerns about a block that causes light updates being used as a redstone logic component are invalid for several reasons:
    1) The lighting engine fixes in the last version makes it a non-issue.

    2) It's still a redstone logic component.
    3) The change makes it so you can clock it even faster, causing even more light updates. I don't see the logic in this argument.

If you wanted to add this functionality to another block without light updates - why not just remove the light emission from the oxidized version of the block?

Finally, any concerns about adding this block now precluding adding other 1gt delay blocks later are equally puzzling. We already have odd gametick delay blocks (pistons, leaves, scaffolding, sculk sensors). The copper bulb brought something new to this family of blocks. It can be pushed, for example, opening up new possibilities in slimestone tech. There's no reason to remove it now just so it can languish on the "idea pile" for who knows how many years. There can be several blocks with this functionality (there already are).

Please revert the Copper Bulb change in last patch. I do not care much about the Crafter, but the Copper Bulb having exactly 1 tick delay was very nice to have.

Also, if possible, in addition of "Waterlog" please make the Copper Grate blocks let the flowing water through. Would be very pleasant visually.

Please revert the change to the Copper Bulb's tick delay. Opening up the capability for redstone circutry to operate on odd gameticks was the majority of what people liked about the Copper Bulb to begin with, and it stings that we have to revert to (infinitely less convenient) scaffolding or leaf tricks to achieve the same effects.

I would really like to see the copper bulbs give off different signal strengths through a comparator based on the light level they’re emitting (basically reading the bulb’s oxidation level). Whether or not it emits a signal at all would still be determined by whether or not the block is activated, but allowing bulbs with different oxidation levels would make them more versatile in a wider range of builds. Since copper bulbs will be functionally replacing T flip-flops in a huge number of situations, redstoners would benefit from having more options for signal strength coming out of these blocks.

Furthermore, copper bulbs with variable comparator signal strengths would create a new way to detect the oxidation level of copper, which could have a number of uses. While the state change from one oxidation level to another can currently be detected by an observer, there’s not currently a way to detect (in isolation) a copper block’s specific oxidation level. Allowing unwaxed copper bulbs to change the signal strength they give off as their oxidation level increases would be a totally new method of input, which would change at semi-random intervals. Tons of use cases for this!

I want to voice my support for reverting the 'Parity' change of Copper Bulbs to match other Redstone components' tick rate.

The Copper Bulb provided too much potential for shaping new Redstone innovations as well as being a unique change specific to said block. There have been many changes in the past like this where-in something unique was made mundane just to maintain a status-quo that feels (imo) lacking in creativity.
Having new unique ways to manipulate our worlds is a core staple of Minecraft Updates, as a player who's been a part of the Minecraft world since around the end of Indev (RIP Rana <3), this change finally pained me enough to speak up in defense of it and all prior balance changes that I personally find over the line for what Minecraft is to me.

While it's likely too late for my years of previous irks and ires to be reverted, Copper Bulbs have the chance to be a renaissance for Redstone systems everywhere, in a similar vein to Redstone itself when it was added.

It would be cool for the copper bulbs to store the same signal strength they received when activated. You can only read out signal strength 15 via comparator. It would make more sense for it to store the signal strength so you have a variable, movable source.

If you were to make such a system with composters would be more effort than it's worth to loop around compost levels. You are also limited by signal strength for both cauldrons and composters.

...oh and make the delay 1gt again. I have no idea why you intentionally added 1gt delay just to remove it. It was the best part of the bulb!

You should make the copper lightning rode oxidisisable. This would make it fit into builds better and every time in gets struck by lightning it should reset the timer till it oxidises again. When it is fully oxidised it won't get struck by lightning again.

yeah, as mentioned here by many people, having odd redstone ticks is really helpful for redstone contraptions, and as a good example, having that put in a movable state makes it so flying machines get a nice deserved upgrade. removing that capability is honestly limiting peoples creativity with that possibility, which is not the first time it happens during minecraft development.
id like to suggest reverting this change, as it doesnt harm anyone and just enables people to be more creative, unless you have an actual reason to remove it other than "making it consistent with everything that already exists but with a small twist".
or on another hand, you could make it a config like you did with the lava "op-ification" together with the 1gt crafter trigger, so people who dislike it can opt out or people who like it can opt in.
thanks for your time, and great work on the update so far!

The 1 tick delay was a cool feature, BUT I do understand wanting to change it to stay in sync with other redstone components. So what if:
Each level of oxidization adds 1 tick of delay as the lighting components "age" starting at zero. This would give the technical players an easy path to odd numbered ticks while also providing a reasoning for why the delay exists in the first place. No oxidization: instant powering, some oxidization: slower to illuminate.

Copper doors and trapdoors should toggle when powered, like the copper bulb. This differentiates them further from wooden and iron doors, and makes copper components more consistent.

Maybe it might be a little off topic but it will also be better if they add copper variants to iron as well, especially the grates
