idea: whenever someone puts a splash or lingering potion inside the pot, when the pot breaks the potion in it should splash instead of dropping the item, this could be really good for map makers and traps

I really hope they get a bundle replacement. I already love the bundle but as I understood, it sadly never comes because of the different, old platforms of minecraft bedrock. But this would even be a whole lot better than the bundle as it is far easier to get and so a lot more "early game". Also love the no-gui idea.

Either piglins or some future mob should go hostile when you break a pot nearby

It would be cool if villagers could store their inventory items in the pot,
that way it would be easier to collect food from farmer village because right now the only way to collect food from villager is waiting for the time when they try to breed and then stealing the food with hopper,
but if they can store their harvest in pot then it would be more fun.

i think we should be able to color and customize the pots more and i think there should be special treasures inside them in the trial chambers.

I have a bit of a radical idea for decorated pots: they should be able to pick up dropped items, similar to hoppers (but not push them to other containers). This is simply because they have an opening on the top of their texture! This could be work as another flavor of sorting, since pots can only hold one type of item at a time. What does everyone think of this idea?

Decorated Pots could be a great way to sort and filter items. My idea is that if you put an item in the middle slot of the decorated pot recipe, that item won't get picked up by a hopper and can only be retrieved by breaking the pot. This would be a great way to lock the pot to only receive a certain item. For this to work, it would also be cool if decorated pots could absorb items from hoppers above that are not facing directly into it.

Awesome changes, love the new pot features. Here are three additional things I'd consider adding to "complete" them:

    Storing / Taking items out

-Add a way to get a single item out of the pot, such as right click to insert and sneak right click to pull out (or reversed) as having to break the entire thing feels awful when all you really need was 1 of that item and it would allow for more interesting storage solutions as they are more fun to interact with then other containers that use a gui

    Hopper Like Functionality

-Let pots act like a more basic and unique form of hopper where it can suck item stack entities in from the top of its lid, but can't pull items from containers or push them. This would increase redstone functionality as it would help give rise to new kinds of filtering systems, and other contraptions

    Dispenser Functionality

-Let pots be dispensed by dispensers like shulkers. It would complete the half implementation you have with dispensers being able to break them with projectiles already and would allow using them in more complicated redstone builds such as item filters or temporary containers for other miscellaneous reasons

    Hello team,

Recently, you added decorated pots to Minecraft with the ability to fill them with a stack of items. It was a great idea, but considering the direction the upcoming update is taking, especially with the crafter (thank you so much), it seems like an update oriented towards Redstone. For this reason, I think that for the sake of logic, compactness, and performance improvement, decorated pots should automatically absorb items from the container above them without causing them to fall into the container below.

    WHY?

    • The logical part: The pot has a hole in its design at the top, so it makes sense that items should either fall into it or be absorbed without falling below, as it's already full.

    • The compact part: This would make item sorting much simpler and more compact.

    • Optimization and performance improvement: Currently, hoppers are a significant source of lag, so reducing their use in solo and server machines would be excellent news.

PS: It is possible to modify my proposal by making only the items that pass over the pots fall into them, without having the pots absorb them from other containers.

I think it is really useful in terms of MapMaking (maybe a little less in Survival, but it's grateful tho). Although, I believe that if it could store 2 more Items so the Pots could have a little more variety inside, it would be great.

When the new pots were unveiled many people thought they would now make it very easy to construct item filters since they could only hold one type of item.  The problem is that hoppers drain all of the items out so that they can not serve as filters.  My suggestion is that it be changed so that hoppers drain all but one item out of the pot.  This would allow the pots to work as filters.  The only way to get that last item out would be to break the pot. Thank you for listening to my suggestion.

    So…
When will this reach Minecraft: Pocket Edition, My Sibling and I enjoy playing Minecraft on our phones and causing chaos in our survival worlds, I think that making mystery loot boxes in PE to sell for Redstone would be cool

Decorated pots are looking really interesting, but I wish it was possible to paint or glaze them! It can be quite labour-intensive to gather shards, and it would be nice if they could look a bit more unique. Especially if we could make them more unique ourselves, through dyeing or glazing for example.

As-is pots seem much more decorative than functional.  There are plenty of edge use cases for which this may fit the bill, but with a few changes you could make pots so much more functional.

    My prioritized suggestions are:

    - Essential: Pots can be crafted with an item that specifies what that pot can hold... the item could be a stackable or non-stackable item and would generally follow the same rules as the allays do with non-stackables.  Breaking the pot would drop the item it was crafted with along with the shards / bricks.

    - Essential: Pots should be capable of pulling items into them from a container above them.  The jar's spout sort of infers that it can do this today but it cannot.

    - Important: Pots can pull items into them that are dropped / flowing over them. Preferably also 1 block higher like hopper minecarts, which would allow items to flow over ice and be picked up by the pot below the ice.

    - Nice to have: Pots crafted with an item should show that item on any non-decorated sides to make it clear what that pot can contain.

    - Nice to have: In inventory screen, pots crafted for specific items should be labeled in a way that indicates what they can hold, like "Pot of Bone Blocks" or "Pot of Wood Shovels".

These combined changes would revolutionize item sorting by removing a ton of redstone components and should have a beneficial effect on performance as well as leading to more compact designs that allow players to better express themselves in their worlds.

I don’t know if they should stack to 64, I wish they kept them unstackable. But then again, I can carry more pots…

If a note block was placed on top of a decorated pot, it would be cool to have an ancient instrument sound. This would create interesting new sounds for the note block.

We should be able to dye the decorated pots.

I propose removing the recipe for dyed terracotta and make a similar recipe for dyed clay balls. This would greatly expand the color capabilities for many decorative blocks.

The dyed clay ball recipe would be 8 clay balls surrounding the color dye of choice.

From the dyed clay balls you make:

    - dyed clay blocks that can be smelted into the existing stained terracotta blocks

    - dyed flower pots

    - dyed decorated pots

    - dyed brick blocks

Having 17 color variations of these blocks would go a long way to giving the players even more freedom of expression.

Dyed clay blocks could be lighter color tones that compliment the existing darker stained terracotta color tones. They could also be found naturally in the world such as in riverbeds, aquifers, and swamps. Terracotta is the vibrant colors of the badlands and dyed clay blocks could be the vibrant colors of the underwater surface.

We need a way to get items out of a decorated pot without breaking it. Maybe by using an empty hand.

decorated pots definetly need one thing.. and to be honest I see it even more needed for this (mainly) decorative item than what is shown that was done
coloring pot shards, crafting shard and dye, simply to get differently colored image on pot, just in base 16 colors + "stock" uncolored one we already have, to clean shards, cauldron could be used
coloring whole pot, crafting finished pot and dye, so you arent stuck with just base clay color, clay blocks have already 16 colors themselves so making textures also for whole pot base should be not too hard I guess, also having colored flower pots, being at it, would be really nice, those could be cleaned again by cauldron, by breaking into shards (thus losing color)
reason for this is simple, decorative pots could been very colorful and thus much prettier, maybe even giving us chance to give them patterns similarly as banners do or at least color that line pots have already around would be wonderful and I believe made pots actually more useful for their main intend (I believe it is decoration in first place)
and as many people sayed, if they could had store water and milk, not sure about lava and powder snow.. it would be likely also great to make it as actually new storage block

I love it, they should be generated in structures with loot! I love how they drop item when you break them, maybe add some hanging from ceeling in structures so players can shoot them with arrow and get loot fall on them.

And in case of generated pots i would add that they dont drop shards or drop them rarly, so it shows they are very old and fragile.. So in that case they can be only mined with silk touch.

There has to be a way to take items out of a decorated pot without breaking the pot or using hoppers in normal gameplay. The player could use an empty hand to take items out of a decorated pot.

Dogs should be able to sniff the pots, cause dogs do that sometimes...

Kind of like how cats sit on are beds, to impose there dominance.
