gold armour trims should make piglins friendly. It makes sense because gold nuggets will even become passive (temporary). But since it's on your armour it should be permanent because gold boots act the same.

The armor trims could be combined with archeology: you could add a trim only obtainable through archeology so it makes it more interesting.

I think that coal should give temporary fire resistance, when in lava or fire and when getting hit with flammable objects, that last for a couple minutes but only activates when on fire and once the effect goes away completely you have to retrim the armor with coal to gain the effect again. Also when the armor has coal triming the armor also doesn't take fire damage. Also now that I think of it since if Mojang does add this idea it would be good if all the materials that you can trim armor with give people special enhancements when put on armor, so we can combo the enhancements and have a lot of fun figuring out which combo suits our way of playing. At least I would I don't know about anyone else. Does anyone else think that this is a good idea?

The new "Snowman" armor trim should spawn in igloo basements. It would be similar to the "Vex" trim, but instead of a long line, I would have a "button" at regular intervals.

It would look nice to add an enchantment that makes only the armor trim glimmer when enchanted, not the base armor itself.

Echo Shards, both prismarine shards, and glow ink sacs should all be a material. Also we need netherite horse armor and trims

I think it would be cool if armor trims had a glow effect. This effect could be activated by adding glowstone dust in the smithing table.

It could be cool if we could have some more armor points when our armor is decorated.

    example :

I have iron armor, I decorate it with gold, I have 1 additional armor points to my armor.

otherwise the addition is too classy!

As a Bedrock player, I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but armor trims could potentially limit the addition of new armors in the future. However, this could allow the developers to focus on more important updates for the game. In the Gameknight999 book series, one of the characters painted their armor with unique designs. I thought this was a really cool idea and it would be great if there was a way to layer painting designs over armor, in addition to trims, such as flowers, mountains, or other custom designs. Also, it needs an option to add an arc reactor, and weapons on the back of the armor such as swords, bows, and tridents.

I love this! It makes smithing table useful. It's boring that everyone looks the same in Minecraft, and trims can help personalize players. I'm hoping pets like horses/wolves will have such customizations too!

I also hope that we can alter the stats of our armor with the smithing table, like adding movement speed, magic, or other builds. It doesn't have to be too overpowered, but having different builds for different players will be fun. I feel like progression in Minecraft is too short. Getting enchanted diamond gear is too easy, and I hope there's more upgrade paths, and sidegrades.

Wandering traders need to sell unique trim patterns & whatnot. They really need unique items to sell to give them value.

I like that each area now has unique trim loot, but I hope they're not too rare. On mobile I'm often reluctant to explore outside my base, seeing how each exploration attempt bloats my game's file size. Either the file size needs to be reduced sonehow, or add a way to explore Minecraft without bloating the save file, like temporary randomly-generated dimensions to explore. The woodland mansion's 4.8% chance of getting the armor trim is horrendous and I'd have to spend over 10GB of my world file size to find it.

I love that enchant effects are more subtle. The harsh purple glow was too much & it made everyone look the same. I hope there's a setting to lower the player's potion particle effects while standing still. It often blocks my view while screenshotting & whatnot.

it would be cool if the different trims have effects such as gold trim = piglens dont attack you or better piglen trades and emrald trims make villager prices lower or give you a buffed "hero of the village" effect  it would also be cool if you could put a totem into your chestplate so that you dont have to hold it diamonds are also really exspensive so maybe a different system such as levels + emeralds or copper

Regarding the possible addition of armor trims, I think some further customization should be at least considered. It can be done with leather armor, so why not Netherite? Being able to add a dye along with the armor template in a smithing table, as you would a pattern in a loom, would further expand upon your goal of allowing players to be able to express themselves. Please do consider this, I grown rather fond of this idea.

If Smithing Templates are added, at least make Bastions spawn more often. And the idea of duping an item to get Netherite just doesn't feel right for such an OP item. Additionally if multiple people play on one world, it would take very long for everyone to get it. The way Netherite is obtained currently is fine, not super easy, as an Ingot takes quite the process, but is not too difficult. At this point one could ask if it is even worth it to obtain Netherite. The chance for customization is cool though.

Well... we should probably add abilities for different trims or armor strength and toughness! That would make it pretty useful and perfect

Please reduce diamond cost by making new item like diamond nugget or something, even if it just 2:1 split is okay (half split diamond), 7 is too much for a set of netherite and will force everyone to strip mine even more and make low y layer ugly with boreholes everywhere

I like them, and the cost to use diamonds is awesome, we have a new life with the diamonds. But I would like to add some additional functions depends on what mineral used to trim, not only decorative, because use a netherite with the leather armor is waste diamonds and netherite.

The Smithing Upgrade is… weird. It feels so strange to have to use it to upgrade to Netherite; it doesn’t fit in well into the process. I appreciate having to work more for Netherite armor, but this feels a little too expensive. Having to find up to 8 of these things for a full set of armor and 4 tools isn’t that fun. I don’t have any way to necessarily improve it, but I just feel it’s not there yet, concept-wise. In terms of the actual templates with the designs though, they’re great.

One thing that would be cool is having echo shards as one of the materials you could make an Armour trim out of!

I think we should be able to apply glow inc sac on armor to make it glow just like glowing signs. It would be purely cosmetic and wouldn't emit light like torch. This would give another usage for glow inc sac
