    Just a few suggestions
    1. Swap the material required for the armor trims so it cost 7 of the material and just 1 diamond. It just doesn't seem reasonable for something that is purely costmetic to cost that much. Also the diamond colored glyph is in the center of the template, not the other way around.
    2. Gold Trim should pacify piglins.
    3. Armor trim on horse armor, and adding a netherite horse armor.
    4. Coast armor trim should require andesite instead of cobblestone. Cold ocean ruins are majorly made of andesite...
    5. Rib armor trim should require netherack bricks instead of netherack. It matches the color of the template and the structure in which it is found. Also, why is its colors so dark compared to the other trims?

    The cost for duplicating the Armor Trim Smithing Templates is way to high. 7 diamonds is way to much for a cosmetic change and will de-incentivize players from using trims on anything besides Diamond and Netherite Armor. At the same though the high cost is necessary for the Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template. To fix this problem what if the crafting recipe for the Trim Template was changed to one Diamond in the center with the Template you’re duplicating on top and the corresponding block in the remaining spots. Then for the Netherite upgrade the single Diamond in the middle is replaced with a Diamond Block to keep the upgrade expensive. This way trims are no longer grossly expensive but the Netherite Upgrade stays an investment. This would also have the side benefit of making the recipe more closely match how the Smithing Templates looks.

    These are way too easy to accidentally use before realizing they must be duplicated, a problem which is worsened by the rarer trims found in strongholds and ancient cities. Giving these items “broken” or “used” states that can be repaired, like the Elytra, would lessen this blow.

    I suggest to add echo shards ad a new ingredients for armor trimming. Make it dark pale green color or add signature like tiny marks that sculk has. It feels "corrupted" and different unlike emerald.

    The old armor trim "dune" texture suited the desert temple much better than the current one. Literally at first glance you could say "hey, this looks like a desert pyramid".
    "Dune" should keep the old texture and the new one should be transferred to the "sentry" armor trim.

    I love this feature, I love that the netherite upgrade is harder now and that the diamond ore has more use, since previously you could make full diamond set just with a bunch of villagers. I would love that at some point you could modify the look of your tools :D

    You should be able to use echo shards and maybe glow inc sacs as trims! I feel like a glowing trim would be cool and a really dark blue one would also be nice.

    Technoblade armor trim. A Technoblade face symbol on the front and Technoblade's crown on the back.

    I feel like they should add armor trims to shields, also bedrock a little overdue for banner markings on maps and banners on shields

    quite wish they had some use like iron slightly increases their durability, diamond their stats, emerald reduces repairing exp cost and increases the durability increased from repairing and amethyst reduces enchanting and enchanting fusion using anvil cost, and maybe we could get trims for tools and weapons too

    It's great how expressive the trims are. They're very cool cosmetics, but I'm concerned they don't add much value beyond just that. Not everyone cares so much about small cosmetic changes, and even those who do will likely not be interested in collecting all the armor trims once they have a single set they like.

    I propose that the armor trims be given more practical applications as well to encourage everyone to seek them out and collect as many as possible. I think this can be done by applying different small buffs or properties to armor trims depending on the material. The buffs would increase by the amount of armor the player wears, but mix-and-matching different materials on trims would encourage players to create many different sets and make their collection more worth-while. Some ideas I had per material are as follows:

    Copper = reduces hit-stun / weapon cool-down
    Iron = reduces received knockback
    Gold = pacifies regular piglins / speed buff
    Diamond = increases luck
    Netherite = chance to nullify received damage on hit
    Quartz = reduces range of mob detection
    Amethyst = chimes on boots / glows in the dark
    Lapis = gain extra exp
    Redstone = chance to stun physical attackers on hit
    Emerald = extra wandering trader items / jump buff

    This will look so cool if me and my friends all wear these trims on multiplayer,especially when we enchant them.

    Perhaps we could use more materials for trims in the future? Stuff like prismarine crystals, echo shards, blaze powder, glowstone dust, etc? They're materials that I don't think immediately jump into a person's mind when thinking of what to decorate their armor with, but they'd be cool novelties and I'd imagine they have a lot of potential to look great. And since redstone is able to be applied to the armors, I don't see why dust would be unable to be applied either.

    Plus, glowstone/glow ink sacs could possibly be used to give a player's armor the same type of effect as the glow squid or glowing sign text. It might not be ideal in PVP situations, but I could see its usage in PVE situations where players are navigating caves in the dark and can use their glowing armor to quickly identify each other.

    It would be better if there is a new design/texture for the enchantment glint of the netherite armor to make amethyst trims more visable and to remove the weird purple feeling that vanishes the amazing colour of the netherite armor.
    (i know that you can control the enchanment glint strength but this is only for you but other players will see it depending on there glint strength in the settings which will usually be 75%)

    .So i mean to change the standard enchantment glint or make a new texture for it that the community may agree to replace the old one.

    Add the Echo Shard as an armor trimming material. Just imagine an armor trimming material that look like the night sky, Now that would be awesome.

    Armour trims are good, but what about if you make netherite Armour upgrading normal like now, no need of netherite trim, just add trims to armours without changing the diamond to netherite Armour upgrading system.

    when i saw that you needed diamonds to duplicate armor trims. i found these random and very costly so instead i think their should be a "Blank trim" you can get from villagers (maybe armorer)  which you need for making the duplicate. it would be like this

    X O X

    X A X

    X X X

    (X: blank trim. O: block for trim. A: Armor trim)

    I don't think it's a very good idea, because armor decoration will be complicated...
    I think it would be nice if there were a little less variety.

    Dear developers, I ask you to add the ability to glow on armor overlays. This can be done through an echo shard, which will be combined on the blacksmith table with armor.
