Chinese Paper Lanterns (1.20)

To fit with the theme of diversity and storytelling, why not add traditional Chinese lanterns to add a different and festive flavour to lighting. The basic crafting recipe would be a torch surround by 7 paper and 1 type of dye. The dye would determine what colour and shape the lantern takes. E.g. a red lantern would be round whilst a blue one might be more rectangular. Paper lanterns could be hanged from the bottom of blocks but not from the side. In addition when placed on the ground the lantern could float a certain number of blocks into the air, spinning around slowly. The player could also stand on the lantern, making for interesting parkour. In conclusion, having Chinese Paper Lanterns would give lot of opportunity for builds, parkour and storytelling.

    If this was added, I'd prefer if they were closer in size to the existing lanterns in the game, rather than a full block.

    Just paper lanterns would be so cool!! And instead of specifically Chinese paper lanterns it would be cool if you could customise them like the new pots!

    Hi mo jang can you make divrite kids of dogs please please help me I’m on Minecraft then it takes my out of my world and then I’m going back in and then it gets me back at worlds and again it’s Just NOT A GOOD DAY FOR ME

    I think we have enough lantern or light types for now. Maybe add them in 3 updates (1 1/2 years or so)

    Why not focus on making light better by doing the optifine light thing (when you hold a torch in your hands)

    That is what every player wants

    Chinese lanterns would be cool because it would add a new use to paper. and maybe you could color the paper too and make whatever color lantern you wanted. and it could a new use to dye!

    What if they can be modified to float using a torch and the floating ones can be held down by leads

    Add more variations depending on what kind of torch; regular, soul or redstone.

    This is an amazing idea maybe we can try to craft it like we have to with the new red vaces that's coming hopefully we can get this 

    I truly hope to get meerkats ostriches termites everything that was in the vote a few years back I truly hope we get it in time

    It will be fun to have another light decoration for minecraft but there are mods you can do that! if you have 0 none Nada Minecoins I garentee you get the app Mods it is a cool app and it does work I use it all the time to give my Minecraft a Little glow up yes it is actually Called Mods!
